At the risk of sounding like a nutjob, I once took those little read flints you use in Zippo lighters and put them in the hollowpoint of a Colt 45 round, held in place with hot glue. I shot them at small propane tanks trying to get them to spark and blow up....didn't work, just lots of propane....

and one more thing: A good friend shot himself in the leg with a .22 and he was in the hospital for 2 weeks and had some serious pain for awhile.

There is a simple test to see if you are a nutjob, read some of the Posts from Inspectorcriric. If you find yourself in agreement, then you might just want to consult a Doctor. :)) If not, then post away Knowing you're as sane as the rest of us. :p

I got shot in the wrist (don't know what calibre) whilst contracting in Chechnya - right through, hardly a mark one side and what looks like a minor burn the other. It hurt like hell about an hour afterwards, but until then I was too busy to bother! Then it hurt and troubled me for about a month. A friend got shot in Iraq by a 9mm bullet in the arm - tough bloke - but he flatlined two or three times, lost almost all his blood between transfusions and spent two weeks in medical care, with about two months of on-going physio. Another friend got shot in the stomach in Afghanistan by 7.62 (short) from an AK (theoretically quadruple the power of 9mm), and was patrolling again inside three weeks! I heard about another bloke taking a bullet in the arm, getting a huge 6" x 3" gash and going out on patrol the next day! Every bullet wound is unique.

Bullet wounds vary, but paper cuts are all bad.

BTW how the hell did your bullet wound heal, tsa? Does it just close up? Did it go through a bone? Or vein? Actually, vein would have killed you.

It reminds me of an old HOlmes film where a hypnotist pushed a knitting needle into someone's hand and through, and they don't feel it. All very well, but what happens when they snap out of it?

You shouldn't of stopped working on that Magnetic Watch TSA. At least then you'd only keep getting shot in the wrist.
As a party piece many years ago ( I was a member of the magic circle ) ( I know that makes me, probably the most boring person here at AJB :# )
I used to push a thin knitting needle through my arm ( to be shown from all angles ), Now I know this will be hard to believe, But It didn't get me as many girls as you'd think.
( but who needed them, I had my Doves, colourful hankies and My Paul Daniels videos :D )

Then, after being thrown into the (tight) boot of an Aston and flung around during a car chase, he's sat down and doesn't seem to be in much, if any, pain anymore – he then starts taunting MI6 with his "we've got people everywhere" talk...and then to cap it off appears to be shot again by Mitchell.

I'm no doctor but I'm amazed he felt well enough to attend the Quantum meeting in Austria?

Since M interrogates him till he is in the opera "Tosca" spend a few days, and since that was shot in the leg, I think it perfectly though his leg was hurt, and may be another reason for not rising and leaves when Bond discovers them

Shot in this position, at that range, with a UMP40, it would have probably ruptured the femoral artery or come VERY close.

Very possible to have 'bled to death'.

Being a marksman and wanting to interrogate him after, Bond shot White very carefully, and at fairly close range--he had crossed the distance between the shot and Mr. White by the time he crawled to his villa's entrance, without breaking a sweat on his nice Goldfinger suit.

Mr. White isn't a civil senior servant, he's a hardened killer who put a third eye in Le Chiffre's forehead in a darkened room. He can take a little car ride before taunting M and attending Tosca with a nice young lady at his side. B-)

Regarding bullet wounds and the ability to be up and aroundshortly thereafter... I have been in law enforcement for ten years and am still amazed at how some shooting victims react to their wounds. Just recently we had a victim who had been shot twice at close range in the abdomen.. upon our arrival he RAN from us... yes.. the "victim" ran... once we caught up to him he was standing and talking as normal as could be... this with two bullet strikes to the abdomen... you just never know... so as for Mr. White.. completely plausible...
