Just wondering if any watched the first episode?
Looks like this will be an interesting show.
Since I'm no good at writing I'll post these:
From IMDB:
Centers on ex-CIA hitman and a scientist who team up to prevent crimes before they happen.
From Wikipedia:
Mr. Finch (Michael Emerson), a mysterious billionaire, has developed a computer program that predicts the identity of people connected to violent crimes that will take place in the future. However, the program has its limitations; for example, it cannot predict whether the person will be a victim, perpetrator, or witness, nor can it predict when or where the crime will take place. Unable to stop the crimes on his own, Finch hires John Reese (Jim Caviezel), a former CIA field officer who is presumed dead, to help stop the crimes from taking place.
The pilot episode establishes that Finch originally built the machine for the government as a means to prevent another 9/11-type disaster, but found that it was also predicting many "irrelevant" crimes. Finch built a backdoor into the machine that, before erasing the "irrelevant data" each night, sends Finch a single Social Security number of someone involved in one of those crimes. Finch also reveals that the world thinks that he, like Reese, is dead.
So did anyone else watch? Let's discuss the show here

Some people would complain even if you hang them with a new rope

Personally, I liked it.

Since the title sequence can explain the show better than I can, give this one minute video a look.

Hopefully we can discuss this show on a weekly basis. Anybody else interested (no pun intended :v )?
What do you think that guy's decision was at the end? Pretty much a no-brainer?

Also, still no reason given as to why Mr. Finch has a limp. Finch said it was a long story. The show has already used flashbacks, maybe we'll get a flashback show that will give us the story as to why Mr. Finch limps and why he had spinal fusion surgery.
I'm very sorry I'm not on here as often as I would like to but I have no time... I'd be definitely interested in a weekly discussion about the show! I reeeally like it. And man, if Jim Caviezel wasn't American I'd want him as Bond! )
I did watch Lost but I lost interest after s3... did watch the finale and all and I was amongst those who were actually satisfied with it, I expected something like that. I am a MAAAJOR JJ Abrams fan so I always check out his projects (in fact I will be watching Alcatraz as well when it premieres in January). Alias is definitely my favorite TV show and SO much of what came after borrowed from it.. including Lost of course, which was Alias's first "derivative" so to speak
Oh yes Alan Bale (that's the name of the actor) was on Lost... he was also a member of the regular cast on the O.C., in fact the night the episode aired I tweeted him saying "Oh hi Seth Cohen's grandpa... I see you're on Person of Interest tonight?" ) ) That was a majorly great episode and Bale was very good in his role as a former Stasi spy.
I'm extremely curious to see this Thursday's one as well, because Carter being the Person of Interest puts a whole new spin on the concept that I am very excited to see unfold... JJ always knows best, and he has IMPECCABLE casting track record, that's the big thing.. his shows may or may not succeed (they mostly succeed but with some notable exceptions, like Undercovers last season, which I DID like) but regardless, you can stay assured he picks the PERFECT actors for the roles. I think casting was key for PoI because both Emerson and Caviezel are absolutely terrific in their respective roles. And the show entirely revolves around the two of them and their chemistry. I am partial to Caviezel obviously (What, I'm a girl, I like badass good-looking men! ) ) and he truly carries the show, but Emerson is really good, too. I got a few friends of mine to watch (selected ones, it really isn't a show for everyone ) and they're all loving it. It has very good ratings but I think it could do even better with a bit more promotion.
Ah, that is a secret true fans only are in on I agree it's a small detail but it's really good... it's that type of thing that indicates how much care they put in writing and assembling the show. And I always appreciate that attention... if they put care in the credit sequence, they can only put more care in the rest (well, generally speaking of course). And, I never thought I'd find Jim Caviezel so good at an action hero role, but I was sold after watching the promos during the summer and COMPLETELY sold after seeing the pilot. Emerson also does a great job and the fact they made Finch have that disability is also a nice detail that contributes to shaping the character the way it is. Like you said, there are details that make the show better.
