Bond 23: SKYFALL

Just been reading some speculation regarding Sony registering some domain names with JAMES BOND and SKYFALL in them. Seems lame to me, and its the name of a Transformer. Sounds like the name of a Bond game not a feature film.
But the story is being run here: http://whatculture.com/film/bond-23-to-be-titled-skyfall.php

Hmmm. . .well, not terrible, but doesn't sound distinctly Bondian. If it's true--and, as always, I'm a skeptic--I could get used to it.

Early reports had "RedSky" as a possible title, now Skyfall. Hs R Murdoch hacked the phones at Eon to get sky in the title. :))

SKYFALL is better than RED SKY, but perhaps not as good as RED SKY AT NIGHT.

It's ok. It's been a while since the last one word title.

Not a fan of the name... It could be great, but I think I need to see a poster or trailer to be convinced.

I can live with it. Sounds like a pastiche of "Thunderball," and I can even hear someone saying "Operation Skyfall" at some point in the film. Or it could be some satellite weapon co-opted by a fledgling SPECTRE to blackmail governments.

It`s possible this is an elaborate misdirection, but most likely it`s the real thing. If "Skyfall" is the title, I believe it will be officially confirmed within days. I believe this becase I have read the commanderbond.com thread on this topic. :)

I suggested the title "Dreamfall" a long time ago, and I still feel that is a better title. "Skyfall" is still a good, but not great title. I think there are three posible interpretations of the title "Skyfall":

    - It`s the name of an operation from MI6 or the villans.

    - It`s a threath: "The heavens will fall on ..."

    - M belives, much like the village chief in Astrix, that the sky is about to fall on our heads.

Same with me, HB....it doesn't sound totally pants...but doesn't quite hit the spot...maybe Sony registered these domain names to get fan sites talking and to gauge reaction from that...?...or is that giving them too much credit ?

I believe SKYFALL has been mentioned not just on domain names....but I have no actual proof of that...again, more rumours doing the rounds....

Not to suggest that this would necessarily make any difference at all but it doesn’t work with the Craig era 'CasinO ROyale' and 'Quantum Of SOlace' 007 logo.

I really want it to be 'PrOperty Of a Lady'.

That was the first thing I thought of when I saw it. I'm totally not sold on the name. I really don't like it. It could be a weapon of some sorts, but that was done with GoldenEye. Hmmmmm... I'm waiting patiently for more news...

    Could be a cross between,

    Vanilla Sky and Downfall.

Sounds like the name of a decent Bond game, but lacks the meatyness of a Bond film title.

Rhymes with 'eyeful' which doesn't help Adele much. Similar to 'awful'.

No, I can't really rate it, quite mediocre.

Skyfall? I suppose it makes Quantum of Solace sound good.

    Doesn't sound too 'classic'...

but i like the name nonetheless, could be the name of the new villian?
Bond could make fun of it...

Perhaps Chicken Little will be involved as he was waiting for the sky to fall. ? :v

If Blofeld returns instead of stroking a cat, he could choke the chicken. :D

Adele, could work that into the lyrics. :))

I am with you. I like the title "Property of a Lady". I think it would be fitting for the 50th Anniversary film.

I am assuming the producers of EON Productions, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli and director Sam Mendes will have their press conference next month sometime after production begins, but I wouldn't be surprised if they waited until January 2012.
I think the title "Property of a Lady" would be perfect and it is an Ian Fleming original.
The only thing close to SkyFall would be the James Bond novel by John Gardner "COLD", published in 1996, and had a title change in the USA as "Cold Fall".
We have also heard rumors of "Red Sky at Night"
All of this may be a way to deter the tabloids and the pesky reporters away from guessing the real title. :007)

Daniel Craig is being a good boy (you know how naughty he is) and not revealing the official title. He doesn't want to steal the thunder from the producers and directors.

Is "SkyFall" really a good title for the 50th Anniversary movie? Sounds more like a name for a video game.
That brings up another issue. Are you tired of movies looking like a video game, or made in such a way so a video game could be made? What ever happened to good storytelling in movies?
Quantum of Solace felt like a quick video game story.

Skyfall? Not excited about that choice if it's true. But if the film lives up to the promise of Casino Royale, all is forgiven, no matter what the title.

When I first heard the name 'Skyfall' I immediately thought... "What the %$*&!?", but now I think I could get used to it.
What counts is what the heroine provokes, or rather what she represents. She is the one, or rather the love or fear she inspires in the hero , or else the concern he feels for her, who makes him act the way he does.
