I ignore mean and hateful replies too.

But why? They're often the most entertaining. :)

We never got to see Q's penis. I think this was a missed opportunity in the series.

Were you referring to Peter Burton, Desmond Llewellyn or John Cleese?

    Peter Burton didn't play Q X-(

Peter Burton did indeed play "Q" in the first movie, Dr. No (1962). He is credited as "Major Boothroyd". Q's real name is Geoffrey Boothroyd.

Burton was never introduced as Q, but rather Major Boothroyd and for the life of me I don't recall Llewelyn ever being introduced as Major Boothroyd, but now I'm going to have to verify that. The real Geoffrey Boothroyd (1925-2001), pictured below to Fleming's right, was a firearms expert who contacted Fleming to report Bond wasn't going to last long using the .25 Beretta. They became friends and Fleming incorporated Boothroyd's suggestions and his name into the novels. If you are interested and have the Ultimate DVD collection there is a spot featuring Geoffrey Boothroyd on the Dr. No bonus DVD.

Just pop The Spy Who Loved Me into your DVD player or Blu-Ray machine. Before Bond is given the Lotus, Anya greets Q as "Major Boothroyd."

Your silly, but harmless posts regarding nudity, homosexuality, height, etc., are one thing, but can you do us all a favor and delete your racist posts? That would be great.
If abj007 would like to remove, edit, move, close any topic I put up, they are certainly allowed to do so.
I was trying to find a way to delete my own answers to other topics. Especially old ones.

And here I thought Craig and Harris were BOTH British, silly me. I could not agree more BL. So James, do you find objection to just one " Quote unquote "mixed coupling or do you boycott YOLT since Bond is British and he is with Japanese women ???? How about TMWTGG or OP, Maude Adams is Swedish and Bond is British, or what about LTK since Lupe is Mexican and Bond is British.

While we are at it, since we are both Americans, what race is our President, are you one of those birther morons who think Obama is some how LESS American than your "most likely" mixed European race. Do you have ANY CONCEPT to how ignorant, intolerant, and offensive you sound, with regards to race, to many of us here on the forum. What about BL, is HE less American than you or I ????????????????????. JUST PURE IDIOTIC THINKING.

Sorry mod's, but his posts just really rub me wrong.

Mind you, to muddy the waters Desmond himself once insisted that he and the gun expert in Dr No were not the same person, still I think that was his artistic interpretation. Or senility.

Interesting. I wonder if that statement was before or after The Spy Who Loved Me? Of course, after making all those movies, spacing out one line is better that I would have done. :)

Oh, it was at least 15 years after. Around the time of the Brosnan era.

Is that why he's addressed as the Armourer then and not Q ?

    Correct.

In the books they were different characters - although I think Q was known as Head of Q Branch until the Gardner novels. It annoyed me greatly when Eon combined the two characters in Spy, although I think the credits (erroneously) for FRWL also list Desmonds character as Boothroyd (probably because they expected Burton to reprise the Boothroyd roll).
