Just to recap, Frankie has been done for indulging in cocaine-fuelled group sex. Gary Barlow says he hopes he can turn it around and make something positive out of it... :o

Next week, Mister Barlow consoles the winners of the National Lottery.... :D

You could maybe start off with the X Factor, as I'm sure that you'd do a better job than the ever-annoying & increasingly camp Mr O'Leary. Just make sure that you buy a suit that fits you properly, as he's been struggling in this department in every show that I've seen of this series :))

I've noticed this too. His suits have been awful and it appears that he only has one pair of brown shoes !!

The styling is particularly awful this series.

Dermot used to be good on one of the big brother shows - the one where they recapped or whatever. He was really sarcastic and quick-witted. I liked him presenting SAS - Are you hard enough? Where civvies go through SAS style selection fitness tests with paint balling battles once they were whittled down. He is just a bland compare on the X Factor - they should have just kept the girl that used to do it - at least she was easier on the eye... Anyway, I can't talk I couldn't name anybody on it accept someone called Johnny and Two Shoes... 8-)

I read that the USA x Factor has had it's lowest viewing figures now less than 10 million, Poor Simon. :))

I was going to ask if anyone knew how sucessful, or not, American X Factor was doing ....

As I said at the top of the thread, Simon has spread himself too thin and therefore has lost control ....

I've also read that the voiceover man in the US is awful and they want Peter Dickson ... Well, YOU CANT HAVE HIM. HE'S OURS X-( X-(

Or people have just simply got bored of this format & type of talent show??

I only tend to start watching X Factor when the live shows start tbh, as the sob stories & dross beforehand really do my swede in. Maybe people are more than a bit bored with the bickering, manipulation of the acts (& viewing audience for that matter) and the fact that most of the winners are never heard of again after their first LP is released. Then again I'm a cynical & miserable git, so I'm most probably completely wrong!! :D

No, I think you've got some valid points. I think that the format has got a bit formulaic... and the petty arguments with the judges is getting boring now... especially if you're not sure if it's purely done for ratings now :#

I will be interesting to see how 'The Voice' does - where it literally is 'the voice' that is judged.... and nothing else.
I do think that the X factor spends more time on the 'design' and dress of everyone - rather than what it's for - ultimately the song/singing.

It is ironic to see that's it's the run up acts that have done so well.... rather than the winner.

So it's nearing that time once again ... Dermot is being crow-barred in to his latest ill-fitting ensemble, the judges are busy practicing their petty insults & Cowell is readying his cash register for when the phone voting starts.

Not got a clue who'll be voted back in to replace the faux-junkie, but tbh I don't think any of then warrant their reintroduction back in to the series.

Hoping that the likes of Marcus continue to perform well, as there's few genuine performers in the show this year. I do agree with Lexi's view that the singing element is almost secondary to the posturing & favouritism that is so, so evident each year. Still at least Steve Brookstein is still going strong ... :))

Just caught up on last nights lack lustre performances.

Honestly, X Factor is turning into car crash tv. The power cut at the beginning of the show just about summed evrything up!

Really glad Amelia is back in. What Kelly was thinking when she ditched her is beyond me.

Just waiting for the results show now ......

Just watching the replay of Sat show now.... and then, like you - watching the results show...

Interesting show.... and I feel for Kitty.... I thought she was entertaining, and well, the show will be a bit dull without her.
    However, Micha B was the right choice to stay in -{

I wouldn't have wanted either of them to go home. I like Kitty more, but Misha is more original and tuned to the competition. I'm sure that everyone left will get a record deal anyways. I love Kitty's voice in the louder range so hope she goes somewhere with it.

I do love a good Conspiracy theory, and It's been pointed out to me that in the M&S ad, Misha B is very prominent and appears at the end with the firms logo etc. So has she already won the show ? :v :))

Well, don't the judges have to discuss the choice with producers before saying it? I think there is a disclaimer saying that decisions are discussed prior to their announcement. It is very possible that producers nudged the judges to keep Misha B since she maybe brings more fans or something like that.

So, Marcus already reminded me too much of Bruno Mars, then to my shock, Bruno Mars comes on the show and INSPIRES(!?) him? I am glad that Kelly and Tulisa slapped that down. I can not stand Bruno Mars and his super produced image. Marcus has too much talent to be trying out Bruno Mars junk. Bruno Mars isn't even a real name! It is just some hip name. Ugh he annoys me.

No comments on last nights show ??? Everyone stopped watching already ?? :)) :))

    Another below average show :#

Movie night was very dull. Some strange song choices. Since when has 'Think' been from the 'British Bridget Jones' ... Its from 'Blues Brothers' Kelly ;)

I actually thought the singing was good...yes some of the song choices were a bit weird...considering the options. But some very good performances from Little Mix, Amelia and Marcus -{ Will be interesting to see who gets booted out...

Craig is gone. Wasn't my favorite, but he was a good voice. I thought movie night was meh. Not bad, not good. Just alright, some good songs, some not so much. But such is the X Factor these days, I like it, but it is more of a loyalty thing than captivation. Rinse and Repeat.

I'm sure they'll find another great Cruise ship act this year.
I used to think Gary Barlow was Boring, But he's quite Nasy as well.

WHO KEEPS VOTING FOR JANET ??????? :s

Really, she is going nowhere. Thats as good as gets with her. No diversity, no personality and someone tell her pointing to the ceiling does not constitute dancing !!!!

Well...I don't vote at all but I think Janet is one of the better ones left...this is more a "versatile singer" competition now than anything else...plenty of artists are not overly versatile and still make a living...but she is a crap dancer :))

Has there really been a 'worldwide' recording artist thats come from X-Factor ? Leona Lewis is as close as you may get...and if you want to talk about people with no diversity or personality.... ;)

Leona is the most boring entertainer ever ... and you're right, total one trick pony. I remember wanting Ray Quinn to win even though Leona was hands down the best singer X Factor had ever produced. She is coma inducing .....

You're also right in that there are few acts who are diverse. They all have a 'style' whether is Robbie Williams, Michael Buble or The Killers .... Its what they do with it that makes it 'entertaining'

Its nothing personal about Janet, I just find her incredibly dull.

I can understand why you do....she is good at singing one type of song (or song style I suppose)....when she changes style she really does move out of her comfort zone...

I thought The Risk had the best chance of a decent career....there are a couple of decent singers left in the competition, but they will soon disappear after their debut album...

The one act left that has really improved - and surprised me - is Little Mix....they could yet spring a shock...

I think I agree that The Risk and Little Mix have the best chance at careers. It is a little tough to say any of the others would last beyond one album.
  • Lady RoseLady Rose London,UKPosts: 2,667MI6 Agent
Lets put our cards on the table and make some predictions for the final .....

    Here's mine .......

    Little Mix

    Amelia Lilly

    Marcus Collins

Not sure who'll win but on current form I think Marcus might just do it though I think chances of a long term career aren't good ... that accolade goes to Little Mix :)
