Well, if nothing else, he seems to be in great shape . . . I don't need to see all that, but I suppose this is revenge for all those exploitative images of naked breasts I got to see as a teenager. If his hair and features were darker, I don't think anyone would be complaining that he doesn't look like a modern James Bond.
Yeah as some who works out I can certainly appreciate a guy who's in really good shape, and obviously hes in the best shape of all the Bonds. But I think we need to limit the Bond skin shots to a hand full of shirtless scenes for the female Bond fans to enjoy and keep his butt cheeks out of the equation, lol
Its bad enough we were inundated with shots of Connery's bare hairy legs, please no Craig butt cheeks in SF:D
I was watching the older films in HD a couple weeks ago and noticed those bad Connery shots. It's like they didn't consider that we would ever see them in such HD clarity, so sometimes he'll be laying in tiny swim shorts with his knees at the camera and big hairy thigh shots! Not to mention, several back hair shots.
I agree, skin shots of Bond should be well-considered and not necessarily frequent.
The photo is fine so far IMO.
Well, Bond is supposed to be masculine, and especially in the 1960s, arm, chest and leg hair would have been considered very masculine for caucasian men, so Connery's look fit that.
It's also interesting how times have changed -- the idea of a man having the time to spend two or three hours in a gym daily to get "buff" would have been considered silly by most people -- there were more important things to do, like work and raise a family. But today we aren't bothered at all by the notion that the action hero somehow has that luxury of time.

Again, I wasn't meaning to comment on the hair being present, it was just some of the shots. I can't imagine that they would be considered very flattering if filmed that way today. I wasn't suggesting that he remove his hair.
I think Connery shares a bit of the look that John Hamm has in terms of fitness when playing Don Draper on Mad Men. They imply that Draper swims laps after work a bit for exercise and calming down, then does pushups and some other arm exercises at home. I do think it is funny that these men in movies now seem to be strictly dieting and on a regimen of 1-2 hours in the gym each day. I can't really picture scenes of Craig in the gym spliced into Casino Royale or something, despite that being a large part of how he would look that way. )

Don Draper is James Bond if he was born in the States and worked for an Advertising Agency. I can't help but believe Connery's Bond has been a big influence on how that charactor was written.
The official 007 Twitter feed has posted another 'clapper board' photo today from "Skyfall" shooting. As usual, the image does not appear to reveal much other than the scene number, but this time there is a tiny detail that may be the first major plot point spoiler.
Look closely to the left of the clapper board on the video wall of graphics and you will see what looks like two meteorites entering the atmosphere.
A meteor falling to earth would make an interesting storyline. Is the meteor being controlled in its path and that is being used to blackmail a Country/Continent/Government? I was talking to a friend last night who was saying the villain could be an ex MI6 agent with an axe to grind against 'M'.
One thing that has been bugging me for some time though is the image used for the SkyFall graphic. A black background with white wording but in the words what is background image? There is something there but it can't be made out.

Not very realistic storyline though is it? Fine for Austin Powers, but for Bond? Naaaah.
Given that Bond has had to deal with, Villains setting Rockets of course, Stealing Nuclear Bombs, Nicking Spacecraft/submarines,
Bond has always had a touch of SiFi in many of the stories. Also As it's the 50th Anniversary Lets have something BIG for
Bond to have to try and stop.
A meteor being Used as a weapon would be fun, :007) after all even Fleming said of his novels that they where Improbable, not Impossible, and after the damp squib of "Raising water prices in Bolivia " I think it's about time to go for a little "Bond is Back" Big stunts and action sequences. -{
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."

Yeah because a story about, oooh lets say, a space craft being gobbled up or a couple of submarines being swallowed whole and then the respective governments being set against each other arent realistic plots are they?

I'm with IanT on this...let Austin Powers have that...
As for the plot lines mentioned from past films....well....they really are from a different age....what you could get away with then...you certainly couldn't now...and those plots lines are from when the Space Race first started and nuclear weapons first came about...so all cutting edge stuff....BACK THEN...
I take on board the comments about previous films in the past not being very realistic, but they belong in the past and, to be honest, they weren't the best of stories either (in my opinion).
Terrorism is the big threat these days, not cackling madmen in hollowed out volcanoes. And as Mr Gregory Bean noted, a terrorist organisation buying up lots of equipment isn't going to go unnoticed. I think that if someone was to secretly build a base and start altering the course of meteors (how I don't know) then I think someone might notice.
No, we need a good solid, grounded storyline. Okay, QOS was weak, but there was a writer's strike. Something dark and sinister, not megalomania.
I still wish High Time To Kill was made into a film....

Of course, some of those terrorists were cackling madmen in hollowed out caves. Bin Laden hollwed out the caves of Tora Bora and ran secret terrorist training camps and called his organisation The Base (al Quida) and from there he planed devilish plans of destruction. And just last week there was a news item about nuclear material being stolen from an Egyptian atomic reactor. Haing said that, controling a meteor and blackmailing governments is far into Austin Powers territory.
I am confident that they haven't used this plot device.
And Bin Laden did live in a cave, I agree - not a hollowed out volcano. But I don't remember seeing any AQ operatives running around in silver jumpsuits or driving mini mokes... )
It would seem many members are embarrassed by some of the earlier Bonds,
Mabey Babs and Michael where too, Hence the Change of Direction to more
"Gritty Realism ".
So I suppose if Mike Myers does a Piss take in a few years of CR, QOS type
Gritty Realism, they'll be equaly embarressed. Then we can have another
change of direction.
I wonder does Mr Myers know the control he has over the Bond Franchise.

Im not embarrassed by them at all, the early ones are the best. Austin Powers seemed to be more of a take off on the Flint and Matt Helm movies.
Of course, the original plot of AVTAK saw Zorin manipulating Halley's Comet to crash into Silicon Valley. Have they perhaps dusted off an old script?
Manipulating the course of Halley's Comet? Your Joking?
It's true. It comes under the same category as "Dr No is a monkey" and "Goldfinger's twin brother"; plot lines that we can be thankful never came to fruition.
