I see Barbra Broccolli had some input during the script writing process this time around too .... )
I had the exact same thought. I also wonder if that is Craig swimming, I would be willing to bet that much of the swimming was a double. That is no slam of Craig, I would bet an accomplished swimmer would be used in just about any film rather than the star.

I would have thought so, and they may just be getting the sound (see sound guy).
Dont wait for your ship to come in. Swim out and meet the bloody thing.
Looks gorgeous. Glad we are getting a clean luxury location like from Casino Royale, rather than those rough locations in QoS with just a few diamonds in it.
Does this mean we will all be clambering to get Daniel Craig edition Speedo swimming googles?
The fellow at the Omega Boutique the other night reckoned it would be January before they knew the Omega model in question, but did say he thought it would be the PO liquid metal, likely blue face, but definitely not the chrono, as they wouldnt be coming until June next year and 2012 was all about the PO.
Who knows though right.

I would doubt it, in DC we have an actor who does a lot of his own stunts and when a stunt man stands in for him it's very easy to make that stunt double look like DC by wearing the same clothes and a wig. However in a swimming scene I reckon it would be a lot easier to spot the fact that it isn't DC.

I agree - Craig insists on doing a lot of his stunts... I can't believe he would shy away from a few laps of the pool.... hardly taxing for a man with his physique.
Plus like Martin Aston said, it would be quite difficult to get an exact match for Craig while in the pool, not many places to hide

Don't remember Connery ever needing goggles to go swimming, Must be a Modern Man thing.
I doubt Connery did any proper swimming then.
Freestyle, swam correctly needs goggles. Any semi pro/pro will agree.
Chlorine is a bitch, and if you're doing proper turns, then you need to see the end of the pool clearly.
Plus red eyes are not a great look, when trying to be seductive.... )

Chlorine, WTF? Any proper better pool has water, that is cleared by ozone, not chlorine. At least in Germany and Poland.

Chlorine is the usual here in the US. I am intrigued by this chlorine-free pool idea. Is this for indoor pools? Or all pools?
I know pools that use chlorine in Poland, but the better ones are using ozone. This option is far more expensive however. In my town in Germany I know an outside pool that is cleared by ozone No red eyes in comparison to the water with chlorine, this is the biggest plus
I have a real problem with chlorine in pools (they are usually overchlorinated) ......really burns my eyes. I always were goggles. Anyone swimming laps would be wearing goggles.....especially 007; chlorine irritation can blur vision and that could be a problem if he needs to shoot someone after a nice swim.
Red Eyes not Suductive Lexi, :v You haven't seen the Twilight movies then, Vamps are totally the In thing. )
Not being a soft Modern Man, I have never used Goggles, even when welding, My eyes really are that Hard B-)

Chlorine or no chlorine, any decent swimmer will use goggles.... having blurry vision whilst swimming is really off putting - you need to know where your at (in regards to the end of the pool) and when you're swimming freestyle properly, you're focused more of the floor of the pool, rather than lifting your head up to see when it's coming up. (This is especially important if you're doing racing turns too... B-) )

Well the beard/stubble is gone....how he looks in photos taken from a considerable distance w/o the benefit of lighting will be different from how he will ultimately look onscreen. How he is made-up and lit will have alot to do with what kind of film, lenses, etc that are being used.
Here's the complete image gallery of yesterday's shooting, including some new pics from other angle. Credits go to Dedicated To Daniel, John Newton (via Twitter) and Mark Bannister (via Facebook).
Marketto007, I moved your post so as to keep all the photos from the set together.

I would love that ;D Anyway, I was swimming without googles. Until now... We can just wonder what's the brand - Arena, Speedo, Adidas, Nike...
EDIT: And I wonder if he's wearing La Perla trunks again
Tom Ford will prob rip off the googles ala Oliver Peoples )
