Gents, just sent to me from Tom Ford...a swatch sample of Bond's new suit from SkyFall...more to come...
That's wonderful Mantis! It will be great to see Bond in a Glen Urquhart check suit again. The last noticeable was in GoldenEye, though Daniel Craig wore a suit in Casino Royale with an incredibly subtle plaid effect.

Very similar to the present Gucci collection (not to mention that with the new TF style, I prefer the Gucci one, which is more Tom Ford than Tom Ford).
If you can't trust a Swiss banker, what's the world come to?
I'm getting seriously worried with this clothing. Hopefully the rest will be better.
The earpiece is really throwing it down to govt. worker looks. I think if it were gone, the suits would look fantastic. Try scrolling down to the point where you can't see Craig's head, just the body in the suit. I think it looks good, oddly enough.

Tbh I agree with you completely. I've actually found myself quite liking this look.
Short hair cut, black ear piece, cuffed pants, three button suit, Dress watch vs. Dive watch, and classic dark-lens aviator style sunglasses
They seem to really want to present bond as a type of secret service agent, versus a debonair englishman that could be anyone from rich entrepreneur to a common good looking businessman. This style seems to limit Bond's multiple alias capablities...but it's still to early to say.

Any ideas on a model number, if they are TF?
Well I would assume that this look is for this scene and a particular moment's objective. I doubt he will look like the Prime Minister's security guard for the whole film, especially judging by the fact that he doesn't seem to do the earpiece and sunglasses for many scenes.

I don't think he looks bad at all, but I am with you in the anxiety stakes. I think QoS and CR were both VERY good for wardrobe and style, we put so much emphasis on it, rightly so.
The problems are ones that are common with current fashions:
1. The jacket is too short (by about an inch)
2. The trousers sit too low and are too tight. There should not be creasing across the crotch. Roger Moore did flat front trousers correctly.
The tab collar isn't very Bondian, and I don't think Fleming would approve as it is too fussy, but I don't mind it.

It's just not Tom Ford (current Gucci) style... Too tight, to feminine. And don't like the collar.
We'll see how the rest of the wardrobe is -{ can't wait

I can't wait to see the movie, but the wardrobe leaves me unimpressed so far. It's so different from CR & QoS, which had some beautiful looks. I feel like there's too much going on with the tab collar, skinny tie, skinny lapels, etc. I'd much rather see a more classic & understated look like in Craig's previous 2 films. But who knows, maybe seeing the finished movie may change my mind!

Am I allowed to put Sean, Laz's, Tim's, or Brozza's head in its place?
So is Tom Ford copying Ray Ban now? This isn't the same style sunglass from the pictures a few weeks ago. Those were gunmetal while these are gold. These look dead-on like classic Ray Ban Aviators, nothing like any of TF's frames, not that that matters as QoS has shown. The lens shape, bridge shape and distance, hinge, and clear temple ends all look exactly like RB. The temple wire looks a little thicker but that could be the lighting.
I hate saying anything looks like RB because that's usually what people say when they have no idea and just want to contribute, but these really do. Pretty much every other company that makes an aviator softens the shape from the RB original.

To be fair, every company who has ever made an aviator shape lens, or a design derivative of it, is copying the original Aviator design created by Ray-Ban themselves. That is why, I stick to Ray-Ban for Aviators. It is just kind of their thing in my mind.

Every other aviator inspired sunglass that I've seen are changed in shape or detail. When you see an Oliver Peoples Benedict or an American Optical General for instance, there's no mistaking either of them for a RB. This pair looks exactly like a RB.
I agree with you to a degree, but I'm not a fan of RB's Aviator. It's just not a very comfortable frame for me. Much prefer OP's frames, although I do have a gunmetal RB Caravan and a tortoise Clubmaster.

I haven't worn aviators in a while, but my point is, if you want Aviators, they came from Ray-Ban and all others are inspired by or copying that first popular design. If I want Converse sneakers, I buy from Converse, not American Eagle, Ralph Lauren, or Ed Hardy (Blegh!) or any other companies who make a copied design and stamp it as theirs.
I get a bit lenient when it comes to Oliver Peoples and Persol as they are now brother companies of Ray-Ban so I feel less like they are just rip-offs without permission and more like they are in the Luxottica club and have a right now that all of them are owned together... if that makes any sense. They are sort of now a designer sunglasses family in my head and they are the only three brands I buy from actually. So I am not totally strict on it, but I say have pride in the originals when the chance is still available.

Note that I said Craig, not Bond . According to the Land's End blog, Judi Dench has another coat of theirs on set for warmth.
He might have H&M underwear on for all we know :v )

I remain positive.

And I actually like the look of these suits, but I'm a young buck, and the really fitted look is right up my alley.

Ah. SKYFALL's a much better movie already.
