This light grey suit has a better fit than the striped suit, or that may just be because it is worn open. The trouser rise is still too low. And it's definitely not the darker glen check ("Prince of Wales" is technically an incorrect name) that is seen in the swatch and the clapperboard image. It's hard to tell what pattern the light grey suit is, but I suspect it's pick-and-pick.
I'm a new Forum member and just wanted to introduce myself and say thank you to all the AJB007 members who - though you haven't known it - have helped me indulge my own passion for James Bond style over the last few years. I've frequently found items and made purchases (or avoided them) on the basis of the information and photographs you've all been sharing here.
I currently live in Dubai and we're fortunate to have a branch of Tom Ford at Dubai Mall. I won't get into describing the extent of my own modest clothing collection here - though am happy for a 'show and tell' at some point. Suffice it to say I've been fortunate to be able to get made-to-measure versions of the three 'Regency' suits from Quantum of Solace made from the correct cloths. I also have most - though not all - of the QoS ties. As other members have observed, finding the exact ties from QoS isn't easy. But even if you end up with a tie that's a very subtly different colour or pattern from the originals, you will nonetheless own one of the finest neckties money can buy.
I was in the Dubai store today and just wanted to share my conversation with the store manager. It corroborates everything 'The Mantis' has already posted. The Skyfall lounge suits will be in the 'Falconer' style which - as Forum members have noted - has a slimmer appearance than the 'Regency', with narrower lapels and pocket flaps, three buttons on the cuffs rather than five and a single rather than double vents. The Falconer trousers are a more-or-less identical style to the Regency trousers - having side adjusters and a flat front.
Interestingly, 'on paper' the Falconer is a very similar fit to the Regency. A Falconer in a 48R has a jacket length of 76.5cm, drop of 7cm and trouser width of 19cm and drop of 7cm. Exactly the same as a 48R Regency. However, as everyone has been observing, the Falconer looks much more urbane and less powerful than the Regency. Both are intended by Tom Ford to be a classic English cut.
I was shown - and got to handle - some of the material swatches for the Skyfall suits: including the mid-gray Prince-of-Wales check of which photos have already been posted. Note this is a mid-gray and darker than the suit that Daniel Craig has recently been photographed wearing on the set in Istanbul. So I think we can say we've seen photos of three suits so far: the black or charcol suit with white pinstripes, the mid-gray PoW check suit and the light grey suit from Istanbul (are there others I'm not aware of?) The store manager in Dubai stated there would be 'about 5 or 6' suits in all, one of which will be a dinner suit in the 'Wetherby' style. He showed me the material swatch for this suit and a couple of examples of dinner suits in the Wetherby style with shawl lapels that look ENOOOOOOOOORMOUS! Roger Moore will be green with envy!
Anyway, that's all the intel I have to share for now.
Im certain (unfortunately) it has to be a Tom Ford since he made the last pea coat, I think its safe to say this film will mostly be Tom Ford (I think more then QoS due to all the formal wear which appears more then usual!!)
Bring Back Lazenby!, thank you for the information on Tom Ford. I'd call the "Prince of Wales" suit dark grey rather than mid. They've probably sized down with the Falconer suit if the measurements of the standard suit are the same. It probably doesn't reflect on the suit and Tom Ford but more on the costume designer who chose to put Craig in a smaller suit. I'm looking forward to seeing the Wetherby. I haven't seen a Wetherby dinner jacket, but the Wetherby suits have more more of a 1930's vibe than 1970's. The 70's doesn't have a monopoly on wide lapels.
Its really a shame he's wearing more Tom Ford sunglasses in this movie. I like persol so much more. The quality
is a lot better than the Tom Ford sunglasses. At least in my experience. Also I wish tom ford didn't have so much of
a monopoly on the wardrobe. I like it when multiple brands are used. Not only does it make it more fun to identify the
items(this time a couple calls to tom ford will probably identify all the items). It also allows many quality brands like
Sunspel to get publicity. CR was great in doing this.
So we have positive identification!

now the question is what the "official" sunglasses of SkyFall Tom Ford or Persol?

I agree 100%. I'm not a fan of any of the Tom Ford sunglasses and especially on Bond. Bond would never choose a Fashion house brand - he would always choose a brand associated with making the best sun glasses. What next? A Tom Ford watch?

I also 100% agree. I like the Tom Ford brand, but I don't get giddy over all of his items. Quantum was pushing it a little bit and I worry that Skyfall will just be shameless Tomfordism. CR had that brand balance, from the affordable Ted Baker to the totally exclusive Armani jacket and everything in between.
It's not that Tom Ford doesn't belong with Bond, it would be just the same if any other brand had monopoly. Variety is what makes a good Bond wardrobe in my opinion, not walking in to a Tom Ford store with an Amex and giving them carte-blanche.
It looks grey here. I'm interested to see if it looks grey or olive in the film. The black chukka boots are interesting. Connery sometimes wore boots with his suits, but they never had laces.
... these might not be boots. The cuffs of DC's trousers are too low, in this shot, to completely see their sides. From what we can see, my money would be on their being a black 2-eyelet derby shoe. Perhaps a TF version of this style.
As Matt S points out in his excellent website, these shoes were "... worn by Bond with his suits throughout Dr. No and From Russia With Love and also in some parts of Goldfinger. Daniel Craig wore this style (specifically the now discontinued John Lobb Luffield) in Casino Royale".
Having once had an occupation where I had to wear formal footwear in which I could move - especially run - as fast and as easily as possible, should I need to, I can confidently say that boots are not tactical because they restrict flexibility at the ankles. Shoes are better and the derby style especially because it leaves more flexibility across the middle of the foot than a 5-eyelet style such as an Oxford - meaning fewer blisters over your sesamoids.

I'm pretty sure they are boots. Draw a line up to where the quarters meet and you'll find that they meet very high. Trousers that short would expose the top of a shoe on the sides. They are short boots at the very least. The Crockett and Jones Tetbury is exactly what I was thinking when I saw those pictures.

They certainly look like the Crockett and Jones Tetbury model:
I own a pair of the C&J Hallams - an Oxford style shoe that uses the same last (the 348), the same waxed calf leather and the same Dainite rubber sole as the Tetbury boot. Most comfortable pair of formal shoes I've ever owned... so bugger TF! Get the C&J's!!

There are pictures with any other sunglasses
That is the Prince of Wales check pattern suit that The Mantis mentioned here
I don't think so. Here's an HD photo of Prince of Wales suit. It looks different to me.

Matt, do you think the gray Turkey suit has the same cut as the striped one, or is it slightly better fitting?

Absolutely right! And besides, isn't James Bond supposed to be wearing something that is absolutely top notch but anonymous?

I have to agree, I always buy from John White they make a great hand crafted product at a more realistic price, why pay more to achieve the same look.
GREAT look! Are these Levi's jeans?
