So when do you think we will see the Skyfall branded Tom Ford stuff e.g. sunglasses, ties etc on sale to the public (believe TF said there was going to be more 007 stuff available this time around).
Anytime soon or right up to the film release??
Anybody remember when the QoS TF glasses were released in respect to the film last time?
This would seem to be the shirt worn under the LVC leather jacket. Any educated/obsessive guesses/inside knowledge? Or just thoughts from you clotheshorses?
(I forget where things stood with regard to posting snips and such; I'll change to links if need be.)
I am also very interested in this shirt. I don't think that it's a Tom Ford and my feeling is that it may be a very quiet purchase.
My advice, try one of the online shirt tailors such as iTailor and see what fabric they have. I have used iTailor and they are good - and cheap - and you can design your own shirt.
...but I pointed out that they didn't have my size (42 R). He suggested I try on a 40 just to see the color etc.........and lo and behold, the 40 fit perfectly ! Very curious, as I am a 42 in every other brand of suit.
Interesting. I know of several clothing manufacturers who purposely make their items one size larger than they should be so that customers buy one size smaller than they normally would. The rationale is that customers will be so delighted that they can wear a 40 in Tom Ford instead of a 42 elsewhere that they'll keep coming back. I'd be surprised if this works, and even more surprised if a designer like Tom Ford would try something like that, but I guess you never know.
Often called Vanity Sizing, it is usually done in off-the-rack/ready-to-wear lines in the USA, and to a smaller degree in other markets.
There is, however, another method that can lead to suits of smaller size number fitting larger individuals. Based on the taste of the designer, the number may refer to the intended typical measure of the wearer, but the dimensions of the clothing are cut to fit that wearer in whatever style the designer wanted. So while you may be a 38 and 38 often fits you, a designer may have purposely cut the 38 to fit looser, and thus a size down may be perceived as the better fit if you don't take the looser fit as ideal.
Or it just isn't finely fitted to your body type and indeed, the numbers may then be inaccurate.
So do we know all the items that have been confirmed for Skyfall. We have the PO and AT Omega's, The Tom Ford Falconer and Wetherby suits, the Tom Ford Marko Sunglasses, the Crockett and Jones Tetbury's and Hallams and the Walther PPK/S modified. What else?
Picked up some Tetburys on Jermyn Street. I still believe TF will have his own brand copies, but they are very nice either way and the folks at C&J are always great.
Dont wait for your ship to come in. Swim out and meet the bloody thing.
Are the Tom Ford Marko sunglasses 100% confirmed by Tom Ford themselves?
I believe the Marko sunglasses have been confirmed by Tom Ford employees, but we're still waiting for the official press release. Given all of the behind-the-scenes photos with DC wearing them, I'm 99.9% positive that they will be seen in the film.
For the black leather chukka boots, I think they are Tom Ford's "interpretation" of the Crockett & Jones Tetbury, just like the 108 sunglasses from QoS were "inspired" by the Oliver Peoples Airman.

They must be close to launching the Tom Ford Skyfall Edition Markos anytime now surely, would make sense to unleash them before Autumn!
Could anyone suggest a budget version of the leather jacket seen being worn by DC on his return to MI6?
Don't know how budget friendly you want but there are a few.
The "Bruno"(Bruce Willis Surrogates) style jacket from filmjackets is a nice, well priced vintage half-belt style jacket. Would be made to measure and the prices are great. If he could delete the chest pocket that would be a big help in getting to the screen look. I think he's on hold right now for a bit for new orders though.
RRL makes a beautiful one also but it's in the price range of the screen jacket, although better looking in my opinion, not that that matters.
The vintage horsehides are great if you can find a wearable one in the right size. They're the inspiration for the screen jacket as well as the ones I've mentioned.
as for bond's shirt that he's seen wearing drinking in the bar, i think i might even have a shirt like that, i'll have to do for a dive in the closet at home and see if i can find it.
So how many of you guys have the Levi's jacket??? Are you happy with it????
I went with the black, as earth tones don't look as good on me, and I'm very happy with it. For a banged up leather jacket it sure gets a lot of compliments.

Yeah even QoS had a fair amount of items not Tom Ford, it would be an immense amount of work to provide EVERYTHING!

Polo makes a reversible leather jacket called the Deacon that could be had for a little less than $500 on ebay.
I picked up Polo's half belt from a couple of years ago and it's one of my favorite jackets, very well made. If you're curious, http://filmjackets.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=3232&p=51970&hilit=knight+and+day#p51970

Picked one up, the as-screen-accurate-as-you-can-get brown. Like it a lot.
But I think THE jacket of SF will be the "Skyfall Lodge" one....
Yeah, it looks smart, does anyone have any idea who makes it yet? Sruzgar said he knew but isn't letting on just yet. Does anyone else know?
