pfft, 350 euro for a shirt? thats a load of bullshiat. You can get two Turnbulls for that price
Let's say they both great, as for the price: well, you get a quite rare, tab-collar shirt for that, used by no one else than James Bond. As far as I remember the T&A Casino Royale tuxedo shirt wasn't cheap either Personally I would get a TF one instead of two T&A.
For North American customers, is there a VAT deduction?

Depends on the store. Some do remote it, some dont
For those that have the NPEAL Blue Wave sweater, would you say the colour is a Heathered Royal Blue, or more of a heathered blue that isn't as "bright" as a royal blue? Does that make sense?

You can get 2 bespoke shirts from Frank Foster with money to spare, and they will be even better quality.
Exactly, this whole TF thingy is slowly getting out of hand. What's next? Bond wears a red TF beanie. Jany Temime will tell us how very classic, but in the same time so contemporary that beanie is, just look at all these young people in places like Greenwich Village who wear a beanie! It will be sold exclusively in TF boutiques for 500€ "Well you'll get a genuine TF beanie in original RED colour used by no one else than James Bond", and maybe a MILLION hipsters around the world and before that Jacques Cousteau and a couple of million fishermen around the world before that. But who cares because it is an Original Tom Ford Beanie!!!
Sorry about that, bit of a rant before week end.
Cheerio!

Far as the black vneck smedley pullover in shanghai, there are lots of merino vneck pullovers to be had. Calvin Klein, Turnbury, etc. Wouldn't pretty much any black vneck merino sweater do? Is there something very special about the smedley one?

I would like to know this as well, same with the N peal sweater, I feel that even with the Bond connection those two pieces of clothing are ridiculously priced for something so ordinary and available from hundreds of other brands.

Hi Jon before I bought the JS v-neck I would have agreed with you and asked what was so special. Now that I own two (a black and an indigo) I have to say that the fit is great if you want a slimming jumper, in very fine thin, soft wool.
I use mine at work with a shirt and tie and they look quite formal. I've owned plenty of v-necks before and none have been as fine as the JS. Just my 2c
Also I bought mine from life clothing on sale / discount for £80 each. Much more palatable than the £130 on the JS website

I recently read a book on "cheap fashion" (or "fast fashion") and the most interesting takeaway was how our ideas of what is a reasonable price for good quality merchandise has changed in the last 20 years. The author said that if you want a good quality sweater you should be paying a minimum of $200 to $250 dollars for it. Not only will you get a nicer looking sweater but it should last you for 20 years at least because the materials and construction are so much better. Average life cycle for a "fast fashion" sweater? It starts to pill or wear out after the first month.
I've only bought one $250 sweater in my life but after tons of wearing it looks as good as the day I bought it a dozen years ago.
Totally agree with kadd, the JS is the best sweater I've had in years. I wear it a LOT, and it still looks as good as it did on day one. It is a very flattering design, and the perfect weight for indoor wear such as at work. N Peal is also a lovely item, but personally I find the shape a bit odd, much baggier. I'm not surprised to hear they cut the arms off of some of them during filming, they really flap around. May be I need to work out more. It is beautiful quality though. For choice, and the same money, I'd rather have three JS Bobbys in my wardrobe than the dozen odd other sweaters I never wear because they just don't feel or look as good.
I was able to purchase jumpers from turnbury, cremieux, and Calvin Klein on sale. (All like $20-30, hard to beat). They all seem excellent quality, but of course haven't been through the wash yet, etc. The turnbury and Klein are extra fine merino and the cremieux is silk and cotton. Right now I'm a bit partial to the silk/cotton, it has a lovely color, sheen, and lays so nice. The merino are quite nice as well though.
Awaiting a few JS now in different colors.
I'll post back with my thoughts on comparative quality in a week or so.

Guys, I know it's been asked before, but a few questions-sizing for the Acne trousers, fit true to size, size down, size up, what? And Sunspel polos, I know they didn't feature in Skyfall, but were mentioned a few posts above, I think you should size down if you want the 'Bond fit' correct? Also, what about the quality of them, to anybody has bought them recently? I heard people say they're not made as well as they were when they first featured in CR?
Acne I sized up but the problem is not the waist but the legs - they are very tight if you have semi-large legs
Sunspel - they do a good returns policy, I wear my normal size.
The quality has changed (in my opinion for the worse) however ive had to send stuff back due to bad construction. The last time I purchased I actually went to the shop and had no issues with construction
Cheers for that welshboy-I probably would go for a Large then for the Sunspel, and probably would buy from them. Was tempted to buy it with the code above for Aspecto, which must now have expired. Same with the Acne trousers. My legs are a bit 'chicken drumsticks' so might need to size up! The only reason why I didn't jump for them was that they were in 36 inch, and I'm tempted to get back to my usual size of 34 inch (at least) in trousers...my waistline is about 35 at the moment. So therefore the 36inch might have suited me...but I have visions of having a ton of space around my waist, and tight around the legs, which isn't good (or Bondlike!) when you're paying out quite a bit of money.
For those that have the N Peal sweater:
I have a 43 inch chest, but wear between a 40 and 42 suit jacket. Size 32 pants. It seems people are sizing down quite a bit with this thing, would a medium on me still run the risk of being large? Thanks for any input!
