I don't believe that Adele would agree to do anything less than the theme over the titles. Funny thing is, I don't think I have ever heard an Adele song. My teenage daughter wants "One Direction" to perform the theme......welcome to my world X-(
Although, to be honest, I'd love it if they opened SF with an all-new interpretation of the Bond Theme. Would be a nice way to celebrate 50 years, since DN is the only other film to use it as such.
I'd rather have the classic twang of the original Bond theme rather than an "all-new interpretation". Classics should never be toyed with.

The Bond theme has been ressurected dozens of times though out the films and the fans love it.

I have to say, a few of the renditions of the theme besides the original have indeed been exciting.
You're right Gordoleiter....
I don't really like Moby's version of the Bond theme, it is catchy but I think they have taken away the suspense and, how do you put it, coolness of the Bond theme. Fair's Goldeneye trailer Bond theme is pretty good, but it is made for a trailer and you can tell becasue it starts off softly, picks up a gear then goes down a gear again. But i love the Casino Royale Bond tune, which I think adjustly to Craig's Bond, getting rid of the jazzy Connery part, but with still keeping the same stuff. I would like for Newman to add the Craig bond theme... and I wouldn't mind an orchestral title sequence

I hope Adele isn't given any artistic freedom on the track, otherwise I'll be crying in to a pillow with an overwhelming urge to stuff my face with ice-cream and malteasers before the first scene. 8-)
OMG. I agree wholeheartedly. Adele was my ex's and I's "song". He moved out last weekend, so it's gonna be a tearful SKYFALL Day for me now!!!!
A few fantrolls over on the IMDb are wetting their knickers about Adele being confirmed, and then getting their knickers in a twist when asked to provide an official statement from EON/Sony because none exists as yet.

I'm in the same boat -- my ex and I were listening to Adele before she made it real big . . . and now I'm sick of her because she's overplayed in the U.S. and reminds me of the ex girlfriend.
I'm getting tired of waiting now, I just wanna hear the song already!
I'm with you there, Jarv...and also eagerly awaiting the inevitable debates to follow!

Patience is a virtue. You might get a repeat of Another Way to Die and then wish you'd never heard the song in the first place. )
It could be another three weeks before all is revealed. The 5th October is Global James Bond Day. Seems an appropriate time to reveal both the artist and title song.

I see that William Hill have now paid out on anyone who bet that Adele would sing the Skyfall theme song:
'William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly said: "The way our punters were backing her, it seems as though Adele was going to be the only option to sing the Skyfall theme. We are now unfortunately shaken, not stirred by this particular Bond battering."'

Major news networks are now picking up the story that Adele is singing the James Bond theme song. Just heard on the National ABC News and found a short article in the New York Times.
Some people would complain even if you hang them with a new rope

"Though the site said that Adele’s involvement with the soundtrack has been confirmed, it remains unclear if she wrote the music and lyrics or is simply performing the vocals. The song is expected to be released after the movie reaches theaters in November."
Released after the the film hits theatres? ?:) Perhaps my memory is fuzzy, but don't we usually get the song shortly before the film release? Still up in the air about who wrote the song, too...the suspense continues.

am i alone in thinking that this goose is getting rather over cooked?
More and more of the media are saying Adele is confirmed. Even bookies William Hill have payed out to customers who bet on her. It appears now in the unlikely event that it turned out not to be Adele then there would be an awful lot of people with egg on their face. Wouldn't that be fun.

I've just read the last few posts, but no one mentions its confirmed: Adele is the title songstress...
I don't. I hate it when they toy around with a classic formula. In my view, the best Bond theme is the one used in the first three films.
