I guess it's because we are all itching to know the scoop... get our hands on the title song etc. etc. that this lack of announcements is driving us crazy )
We are in the minority - in the sense of super fans, waiting for confirmation. Most people - even some Bond 'fans' aren't watching the clock, or trawling the net to see who is going to sing the title song, or look for exclusives. EON obviously have their schedule. Why they're keeping it under wraps for so long, when the title of the film was leaked way before it was officially confirmed is beyond me, BUT the I guess there is a reason
Perhaps with Adele being pregnant caused recording issues??? Perhaps there was a stand in artist, in case she wasn't able to do it... I mean she did have major throat operation after she let slip on Jonathan Ross... so maybe they were being uber cautious.
We can speculate all day as to why they HAVEN'T said anything... but I guess it's a question of being patient. EON are on their own schedule, and there's not a lot we can do about it

Another insider is quoted as saying that Adele is the right singer of the moment with the right sound. A big improvement over the last couple of James Bond themes.

It's an ominous, dramatic ballad, with lots of gorgeous horn flourishes peeking out through Adele's now trademark vocals. I remember reading the story of the entire Movie ( Moonraker & FYEO ) in
a daily paper before their release. Only made me want to see them more.
I couldn't wait to see the scenes as described in print. And I can understand
the excitement of fans on seeing every snippet of info on Skyfall ( I'm one ) )
and wanting to share it with other fans. I'm grateful to those who take the time to find all these photos, videos and atricles.

However, my money is on Adele doing a huge brass number akin to Bassey!
According to this article on NME, Muse wants and believes their new song Supremacy would be a good choice for the new Bond theme, but that they haven't heard anything and that it's just wishful thinking. Anyway, it's Adele.
I just listened to that Muse song.... it's very good. I thought Muse had lost it recently, but this song proves otherwise... I might just check out their new album now, once it's out!
And yes, as strangeways said, the bond theme is definitely there in the background. Seems like Muse were really wanting this to be accepted as the bond theme. It's like they wrote a bond theme deliberately in the hope that it would get accepted.
If it is Adele, then let's hope her song is good enough to compare to this Muse one.
There are reports this morning that Adele's publicist and one of her co-writers both Tweeted about how great her Bond song is...and then both Tweets were removed.

She would also be a great choice for the title song - a kind of 60's feel a little like Duffy.
I'm just not sure about the whole Adele thing right now - it all seems a bit too obvious - although she has not denied any of the rumours...
