As others have mentioned, on at least two occasions, Fleming wrote of Bond's disdain for cologne.
I agree, I also seem to remember in the J Gardner novel "License renewed" that he explains that Bond didn't use
a cologne but had recently started to use a Dunhill aftershave.

Eucris not just a pommade. Trumper makes it as a shaving soap and aftershave. I use the shaving soap with a Kent brush and it's great. I use Pinaud's Clubman for my aftershave lotion. When the situation calls for it I use No. 89.
From my extensive research over the years I learned that Fleming like the Floris 89 and when he asked them if he could mention their products in Dr. No, not only were they delighted for the advertising, but offered to give Fleming a free supply of his cologne for life. Not a bad deal considering it's cost (not that it was costly to someone of Fleming's income). He would to to Trumper's on a regular basis to get a shave (though I can't say how often he did this) which is why he favored their Eucris shaving cream. However, he got his hair cut at Truefitt & Hill and although he probably had their hair tonic applied, he would use Brylcreem at home (as it was the most popular hair cream at that time).
So, although Fleming mention some of these products in the novels, Bond didn't actually used them outside the Pinaud shampoo (no longer produced) and Palmolive shave cream. Since he mentions he doesn't use cologne in FRWL, then anyone attributing the Floris 89 to him is misinformed. Fleming probably chose not to have him use any cologne because he probably thought it would make him seem more masculine.
Floris is rightly very proud of their Bond/Fleming connection and you have to think that if Fleming had chosen to give Bond a scent, it would indeed have been Floris 89. But instead he sported sweat-de-Bond and a hint of 'sexy woman'.

Thanks for your very reasonable conclusions. I for one am quilty of defaulting to Fleming's own lifestyle, preferences and experiences to fill in the gaps of James Bond's world, but it's possible of course that Fleming purposely made certain aspects of Bond's different from his as evidenced in the differences of character and mood between himself and Bond's. The use of pomade is a perfect example and as you suggested, perhaps there were some things that Fleming didn't want the use of Brylcreem to become associated with Bond.

A few years ago I found a list of what fragrances famous people wear. Apparently some lady had spent years accumulating the impressive information from interviews and magazines. I don't know how old the information is or the original source.
I copied the included Bond actors scents down as follows:
Connery - Guerlain Habit Rouge, Guerlain Jicky
Moore - Guerlain Jicky
Brosnan - Creed Green Irish Tweed, Creed Millesime Imperial
Well, again it shows that some totally unfounded assumptions are considered fact when you repeat them often enough.
Occurs FREQUENTLY in the media! You would think in the old days before they had 24/7 coverage and the onslaught of the web and thousands of more periodicals that they would have had more time to get their facts straight. However, coming from a background in which I had journalist training and experience, I can
say that having more time does not ensure more accuracy. It only takes one error in fact and once it's out there and not corrected, it get's copied forever and becomes a faux fact, despite numerous attempts to correct it.
A perfect example is Sherlock Holmes with his calabash pipe, deerstalker cap and cape. Though he did wear those clothes a few times, it was only when he was in the countryside. He never smoked a calabash pipe - the first time that the pipe was used in association with Holmes was during the original stage play starring William Gillette. Gillette chose the pipe because he could easily rest the pipe on his chest. Unfortunately, it became as iconic to his image as Bond's martini, even though Bond actually drank scotch more often than he did martinis. I wince every time I see an article repeating some old totally inaccurate information about Fleming and Bond.

Maybe interesting for some: John Gardner mentioned Bond using scents a number of times. In LR it was Cologne Imperial by Guerlain (?), some years later scents by Dunhill are mentioned, during NLF through Scorpius. At the end of Gardner's run one other scent was mentioned, either Ted Lapidus or Halston, not sure there. And Clinique is also mentioned in one Gardner Bond if I'm not mistaken.
