significance of JB initials

Anybody ever wondered like me why creators of famous "action" heros name them with JB initals ?

James Bond
Jack Bauer
Jason Bourne



to name 3 ......

    Never thought about it but it is interesting. Ludlum created Bourne in 1980 and Jack Bauer debuted in 2001 so both could have been influenced by Bond. However, as we likely all know - and despite some far-flung theories from some who choose to ignore the facts - Bond was indisputably named after American ornithologist James Bond. Fleming wasn't seeking a JB name but rather something ordinary. Whether the others were consciously or subconsciously looking for the JB link only they could answer.
