Just need a iconic villain, loads of birds and a classic gadget!!
Ha - yeah imagine Daniel Craig with a jet pack!!

where in the bond timeline is this new film supposed to sit ?
if its before goldfinger then i would say no to the ejector seat and the rest of the mods.
Haha, there is no timeline, Craig's Bond is in no way connected with the previous ones, they are making it in a completely different way, so no gadgets at all I thing
I assume we are running a new timeline in which Bond wins the DB5 as part of an earlier adventure broadly in sync with the real world passage of time. Unless of course recent photos are meant to suggest that we have Catapaulted forward 20 years and that the rest of the movie is told in flash back (damn and I have been trying so hard to restrain myself!)
Indeed. I'll be presently surprised if it's more than an incidental appearance, as in TND. I do enjoy watching it being driven fast, though :007)

Someone take this fool out and slot him.
Given most aston db5's fetch the far side of 160k these days, and are adored by their very rich and careful owners, I'd say the likeliness of a genuine 5 being 'wrecked' very slim.
And that is very fine by me.

I completely agree with you Thunderpussy, even though the DB5 is probably my favourite car of all time.
Connery drove it because that was the car for that particular era. Lazenby, Moore and Dalton never drove it and it was only brought back for Pierce Brosnan in 2 of his films to really lay in concrete the fact that Bond was back after being away for so long (I found it funny that it never appeared in DAD as this harked back to so many previous Bond films - yet they forgot possibly the most classic element of all).
Anyway the DB5 appearing in modern James Bond films to me is just so much of a cliche, which again is strange as they have tried to get away from all of those cliches with Craig's more modern Bond.
It also appeared in a deleted scene from The World Is Not Enough.

It's funny, they almost managed it with the Esprit, but if you think about the inclusion of that car in a modern Bond film would be positively comical (in saying that, *I* love the Esprit). The DB5 is a different beast entirely, although if you consider the heritage of the AM range, there is a direct lineage between DB5 (Connery) > DBS (Lazenby) > V8 (Dalton) cars. All on the same (approximate) chassis design philosophy and very direct links between overall design. Similarly, the recent Bonds and their work cars are from the same mould.
The DB5 is an ubercool car, age not making an impact. I can very much see a modern guy cutting about in Tom Ford suits and liking the finer things in life having this in his garage. Two very cool adverts for perfumes have appeared on the TV this Christmas in the UK, one for Paco Rabane heavily featuring a Jaguar E-Type, and another for Givenchy with Liv Tyler in a vintage motorboat on the Seine. That's because classic vehicles are cool and once in an iconic state, they cease aging. I like the fact it's here, and it better be gleaming on it's first appearance and just as gleaming in it's last, for my likening.
Not all of the db5's appearances in TWINE ended up on the cutting room floor....

The Aston Martin has already been spotted on set. Bond aint even driving in that Range Rover scene, he is in the back!!
I know that, I was just reminding me of too many homages. I want a new bond car, not the DB5
