Retro James Bond: Bad Idea??

Hello ladies and gentlemen,
Would a retro James Bond film be a bad idea?
By retro I mean having James Bond in a 60's (or earlier even) setting again.
Perhaps the producers could take scene or idea out of one the older films and expand on it or go in totally new adventure (within an adventure). Or simply a brand new story set in retro time.
What with The Artist and many other films, its possible to create the feel and ambiance of earlier times and make it very entertainning. Plus, didnt the opposite happen with CR?
It would of course throw the James Bond series for a loop, but would it be such a bad idea??
forgive me if this is an old topic.

What might be an idea is to make a couple of films that actually mirror Fleming's novels but adapted to the modern day, much like they did with Casino Royale.
ok,
well perhaps not expand on a previous situation.
But a new mission in a retro setting?
Certain aspects of the setting would add a very stylish and attractive layer to the film, no? Much like the show Mad Men?
I think it would be a bad idea to set a film in the Bond in 60´s or 70´S
