Favorite scene/moment from " You only live twice "

Let the fantasy world begin

For me the piranha pool and hatch door is just classic Blofeld at his evil best. " Well "

I thought Tiger was one of Bonds stronger allies. It was great when they picked up the car with the magnent. Great arial shot and of course " Little Nelly "

The John Barry score and the Ken Adam production design have always been the greatest elements of the film. But if I had to pick a moment, I'd say the scene where Aki is poisoned is a real highlight--eerie and dramatic and not cartoonish--which you can't say about most of the rest of YOLT!

It's not the best scene, but Karin Dor's erotic, somewhat truncated interrogation, plus the earlier "Mr Osato likes a healthy chest" "Does he..." is on my fond recall iPod. Some of the Aki stuff is great too, the zippy white sports car and Bond's slide into Osato's HQ.

I am surprised, that noone has mentioned the iconic Kobe dock shot from the helicopter, where Bond escapes the henchmen.

YOLT is full of visual crackers, hard to choose one:

    - The Ken Adam volcano set is simply stunning!
    - The Little Nellie aerial shots are superb!
    - the Tanaka's bath house set is magic
    - Toyota chase
    - Interior of Osatos office!

    My favorite moments:

Bond and Moneypenny in their Navy uniforms and their banter on the submarine.

Bond getting launched out the torpedo tube.

    Fight in Osato's office

Tiger Tanaka's is a fantastic ally, I love the scenes in the bathhouse and the Ninja camp with him.

    Little Nellie

    Score-Set design-Cinematography: The big trio.

The reveal of the base, the ninjas sliding down ropes, piranha pool, Kobe docks fight, Little Nellie, Henderson's mid-sentence demise, The dummy station floor slide, "First civilized bath", the Intruder mouth opening up, Bond's "funeral" the list is endless.

But I think my favorite moment is when Tiger arrives at the volcano with Kissy. You wonder what the devil he's going to do all by himself and only then does he wave....and an entire army of ninjas rise from nowhere. Then they form a line on the edge of the crater (and you can tell it's Freddie Young behind the camera).

My favourite scene from You only live twice for sure is 007 at Dikko Henderson's.
Sean Connery is getting old but he has the imposing look James Bond must have. I tend to think that he's at his best in You only live twice, particularly in some scenes of the first half of the film. Back to the scene. I think it has its charms. Charles Gray is perfect portraying the contact, and he reminds me Adolfo Celi playing Emilio Largo with his enigmatic smile. I also really love his lines. "Stirred, not shaken..." :)
This scene is untroubled and friendly... until the murder. John Barry's music reflects perfectly the suddenness of the murder, and the fight in the Japanese darkness is ideally directed. I think Dikko Henderson should have stayed alive. There was a good potential in this character.

My favorite scene is at the docks when Bond is escaping the henchmen. The score in this scene is quite memorable and the overhead camera shot of the rooftop fight is a great touch to the film.

    I always loved the Fight in Osato's Office with the Big Sumo guy. -{
And the Blofeld's office behind the control room.

They did play up the age deliberately ie Bond finding the fights heavy going in the office, he seems sweaty in the trench coat. But of course he also looks noticeably out of shape and bored at times, and it doesn't help he's hanging around waif like Japanese girls as a contrast.

But this is a what's great thread, the music when Bond's coffin sinks underwater is wonderful, like DAF, a nod to the previous Bond film too

The fight in Osato's office is excellent - one of the best in the entire series.

Also, for some reason "bird never make nest in bare tree" always cracks me up.
