Miss Eve Moneypenny?

Is Eve just an assistant or is she called Eve Moneypenny (revealed near the end of the film?)

This is total guesswork and have no information, other than the papers mention Moneypenny.
After all no one knows her first name.

Bring back Mary Goodnight I say !

Well, we'll just have to wait and see won't we?

A reasonable guess. Thats what I was leaning towards as well. Using "rumors" that Miss Moneypenny would indeed be back. But as JohnMasterson said I guess we will wait and see.

Like I wrote in a post to an earlier thread, I don't buy it. It makes no sense to write a major character into the script, turn her into a gun-totin', butt-kicking secret agent, and then relegate her to 90 seconds in subsequent films, in which she appears doing secretarial duties and exchanging double-entendres with Bond.

Absolutely. I think all the evidence is pointing to another 'no Moneypenny' film, despite strong rumours that we have a new Q.

I've read some rumors about this, But like others. I can't see a field agent being happy to be put
    behind a desk.

Maybe Eve " Moneypenny " is a field agent who gets injured and is rescued by Bond. She then becomes M personal assistant. Hence the really close relationship between Bond and Moneypenny. ( Maybe they even DO the deed, thus explaining all the sexual tension between the two )
Since this is a reboot and the new Q is all of 30, this sorta of thing could be just as plausible. :v

Are they setting up for filming the Monneypenny Diaries?? :o

I don't believe Moneypenny was given a first name in the Fleming books. As such, if they are to re-introduce Moneypenny, I'd rather that they leave her first name out. She is just 'Miss Moneypenny'.

Based on all the evidence so far, I don't think Moneypenny is going to be in this film.

There were articles published not long ago in the UK saying it was confirmed to them that Eve is the first black Moneypenny and her role will develop into the role Miss Moneypenny within the film. Cant say if it is true for sure. I think it was a Daily Mail claim...

I obviously live in America so I don't get the Daily Mail, but I do get IGN and they pretty said the same thing in this article except they already addressed the color of her skin in a previous article. (All the articles of Skyfall are in the Skyfall section of IGN Movies, by the way, if you're interested!)

I really get the feeling that all this Moneypenny stuff is just not true. It looks like we get "Q" in "Skyfall". Maybe Moneypenny will make her return in Bond 24. The British tabs are notorious for making up "stories" out of nothing.

Naomie Harris puts the Miss Moneypenny rumours to bed. Once and for all...

    No Eve Moneypenny
    17th January 2012
Although little has been revealed about her Bond Girl role in the upcoming "Skyfall", a lot of talk has been generated by the casting of Naomie Harris. Tabloids ran wild with speculation that the actress would be playing Miss Moneypenny, but Harris has finally put that story to bed.

Speaking to Live magazine, a supplement of the Mail on Sunday tabloid that still perpetuates the groundless claim she will be playing the MI6 secretary, Harris said: "The idea of me being Moneypenny was a good, racy rumour. But Eve is not remotely office-bound. She gets to see plenty of action. That meant a lot of gun training."

If Dench ends up out as "M" it would open up the possibility of reintroducing Moneypenny as the assistant for the new "M" in Bond 24. Tanner could be promoted, reassigned, killed, etc. Moneypenny doesn't necessarily have to be a replacement for Tanner either but a personal assistant that the new "M" has brought with from his or her previous job. A cool epilogue to Skyfall could be at the end of the film having the new "M" introduced to Bond along with "M's personal assistant, Ms. Moneypenny. It would be a great moment to end the film with Bond flirting with Moneypenny for the first time.

i like this Idea, and even if Moneypenny isn't in the film, they could still use this idea for another secretary, instead.

The Naomie Harris as Eve "Moneypenny" rumour is doing the rounds again due to some supposedly new leaked info from Harris herself; “There will certainly be some exotic locations, but as Miss Moneypenny I’ll probably get no further than Pinewood Studios!”

    Read the full article here;
    http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/1275031/exclusive_is_naomie_harris_playing_miss_moneypenny_after_all.html

Sounds to me like what she's said has perhaps been either taken out of context or been intirely manufactured to keep the rumour floating around. I'm fairly sure Naomie herself has cleared this rumour up on several occasions now.

Eon tells Skyfall007Fan on Twitter that the Dial-A-Flight "travel article was speculation," and not an admission by Naomie Harris that her character is Moneypenny.

Miss Moneypenny, Jane Moneypenny would therefore not be such that the name means Eve

Moneypenny's first name has never been said or confirmed in the films (or Fleming novels?), correct? The Eve Moneypenny thing is possible, but not confirmed.

As someone has noted on the IMDb James Bond board, if Ralph Fiennes is playing you know who (his character is Sir Gareth Mallory), then on the recently leaked list of characters we could see there is a part listed as "Mallory's seceretary". I wonder if this part has been cast and the scenes shot?

According to the Mail Online, expect to see Naomie Harris return in Bond 24. Apparently, Naomie, Ralph Fiennes and Ben Wishaw all have options in their deals to return in other Bond films.
