Lazenby, Craig and Dalton have a look in their eyes that says "I am damaged and you can never have my heart." That of course makes me want them! They key is they do not come across as so screwed up that it is hopeless.
But in all seriousness though, I think she did hit the essense of Bond's character there. (Even if we were just looking at the actors) Bond is indeed supposed to be sexually damaged, weither that happened with Tracy or Vesper. (or both if you take the original novel Bond into account) Even as a man I always found that to be one of Bond's most intresting sides. Like Barbara Brocolli once so wonderfully said: "Bond can't have a wife or a family, he has to go out there and protect all of us..." -{ -

He is sexily damaged way before Tracy or Vesper. I think it is from his childhood (shades of Skyfall) and it makes him unable to attach to anyone on a romantic level. And then when he does attach to someone it is contrived (as in it does not seem natural.) I am not sure if he really loved Tracy or if he just really wanted to. I got the feeling with time he could have. Then with Vesper... well I do not now where to start with that. The only other females that he "loved" were Moneypenny and Q. His love of Moneypenny is best seen in OHMSS when he tries to quit and she will not let him. It is a Orphus Rex mother/lover kind of situation that Freud would have loved. Then Q is the mother he never had but he was never really able to express that.
I can`t understand when I read from internet that 007-fans thought that Craig was "too ugly" to be Bond.. What?! He is sexy as fu*k (sorry my language), _very_ handsome and manly eye-candy I have seen some older Bonds and none of them was handsome or sexy- Brosnan is some kind of wedding cake figure-fob, Connery was ok-looking and manly but not my type, others were ugly...
And also I think that the way Craig portrays the character is the sexiest, not cartoonish, fobbish, comical or something like that. A little bit dangerous, very energetic, flashy and masculine way.
Oh, I have to say one more thing; many people here say that Craig is not good looking but only "magnetic-in-motion" or something like that.. You know, I think he is in fact unusually handsome in still-pictures also. In fact, very sexy in still-pictures I have never seen eyes like he has, and his whole facial structure is awesome, no need to say anything about body
I think they are; Benedict Cumberbatch has a lot of female fans but I don't think anyone would base it purely on looks. I think attractiveness very much depends on the vibe of the character, which why I'd rank Lazenby right down at the bottom with Moore.
I would put Timothy Dalton and Sean Connery at the top; both physically attractive but also have certain qualities that make them attractive. Daniel Craig would be middle- he's in good shape but it feels like overcompensation because he doesn't have natural good looks (at least, definitely not in a Bond way). I'm a sucker for a pretty face.
Quoting the opening post, above. Considering that fellow AJB member DanielCraig007 is an obvious Craig fan, I applaud him for being a realist in polling Craig as the least in the Bond looks criteria. It doesn't need to be a case of the Emperor's new clothes, in which it's necessary to force individual perceptions to conform to the prevailing popular view. If I learned anything about the film series particularly at this stage, is that the role must be given flexibility in interpretation for the series to go on as long as it has and Bond's current incarnation is the boldest divergence ever taken. I enjoy DC as Bond, just as I enjoy RM in the role, and appreciate DC for his unique contribution to the character as the brooding/brutal version of Bond. I think that DC blossomed in the role when he let go the pressure to become something he wasn't and has since gone in his strength.
Thankyou.
Well said.
Craig doesn't look like Bond but he acts like him.

In doing so, you still have to account for the charm and chemistry he has with other people. Craig, Moore, Connery and even Brozzer all have that. Dalton didn't really get a shot (but he was good in his scenes in LTK), Lazenby looked wooden everywhere (cliché by now, I know).

Lazenby might be a little wooden at times but I that does not make him less hot.
Connery was the business (in his first 4 at least) and just has a "look".
Lazenby looked incredible in his suits and had a good "frame".
Moore looked his best in TSWLM - best balance of age. Just generally handsome - but nothing special.
Dalton, according to my girlfriend is "very handsome" at the opera in Vienna. Looks bad in LTK.
Brosnan is probably the best looking - I know my girlfriend thinks he's the best looking.
Craig is ruggedly good looking.
1. Brosnan, although he does look like a 90s dad sometimes.
2. Connery, really classic face.
3. Dalton
4. Craig, looks really good in CR, QoS en SP, but quite bad in SF even if it was the intention in SF.
5. Moore
6. Lazenby, that man has a crooked nose and no one can deny that

M is Bond's father/mother. Q is Bond's "uncle".
what was a very short scene, at Tracy's graveside.
~40:
Connery in Diamonds Are Forever
Moore in The Saint
Dalton in The Living Daylights
Brosnan in Goldeneye
Craig in Quantum of Solace
~50:
Connery in Never Say Never Again
Moore in Moonraker
Dalton in Scarlett
Brosnan in Die Another Day
Craig in Bond 25
By this metric, Moore has aged quite well. Connery, not so much.
