That will get that extra-slim look that Daniel manages to pull off :))

Hi guys, i have contact orlebar directly and ask if the swimshort is provided by them, that's the answer:Dear Xxxx,

Many thanks for your message and interest in Orlebar Brown.

I am afraid that we cannot comment. Apologies.

Do let us know if there is anything else we can do to help.

    Kind regards,

I also spoke to their customer services and the guy clammed up when I mentioned Skyfall. I think that pretty much answers the question. The chap could have easily said that he didn't know, but instead said the same, 'I cannot say'.

This is the reason why we cannot get the Setter in Sky at sale price. This is all subject to change though, I'd imagine. But I doubt they'll change it, they're really nice shorts.

    Regards,
    Wilde

    P'raps.

But a definite no doesn't drive additional sales as well as ambiguity, does it? If Browns have picked up on this rumour, or seen their sales suddenly go up for this model and colour, makes sense not to knock it on the head and just let the sales keep on coming.

Still reckon they'll turn out to be Ford's copy.

You can't get the 'Setter' in Sky because it's a very popular option and they won't put them on sale when they can sell them at full price.

Of course they could always be keeping quiet so people think that the shorts must be OB supplied.

Having said that I still stand by the thought that they do look identical to the ones I have as they're not stretchy fit/snug around the waist.

I have to agree that just because they cannot comment on a product placement they are maybe unsure of or not involved in, doesn't mean it is theirs. Saying that they don't have anything to do with the placement would prevent some people from trying to secure one in case.

I had considered that, but that wasn't the purpose of my call - I threw it in left-field. I'm sure you're right, though. As it would seem EON have sold Bond up the Tom Ford highway.

They are already very expensive. If TF gets his hands on it, I am afraid to see the price!

I got the same response as you guys (see below)

    Hello Paul,

Very sorry for the delayed response.

I am afraid that we are unable to comment. Apologies.

Do let us know if there is anything else.

    Kind regards,

    Ben

Now at first I thought it is a dead cert they have supplied the shorts however after a few minutes like above I felt if they indeed have not supplied them then a "no comment" is a clever little marketing trick!!

    I have a gut feeling they have supplied them mind!! -{

While I'm in the "whoever designed 'em they'll end up being sold as badged by Tom Ford" group - and, I might add at a much, much higher price - console yourself with this; if they are Brown rip offs by Ford, the Brown originals will most likely turn out to be a far better quality product. Remember the quality difference between Ford's QOS shades and the Oliver Peoples originals?

So for those considering a punt - and who might easily be put off by a Ford price tag of, say, £500 - the Browns might be worth going for after all.

Now, what AM I going to do????? :# 8-) :s

As much as I adore various Ford items and am a huge fan, I have to agree. I've ordered the Setter in Sky.

I'm personally put off by the fact that although they look like the Browns and a number on here have given their bona fides, I'm a little dubious going on only the one shot of 'em wrapped round Craig's arse.

We do not see much of the shorts, bar the obvious tabs at the side and general cut. Who knows, there may even be a whopping great dark blue strip across the front or, haven forbid, the words TOM FORD writ large across Craig's crotch!

And without totally pissing on this, are we 100% sure of the colour? Cinema lighting can have a significant effect on colours, particularly in a shot designed to be artistically shadowy to show off Craig's rear arm, back and shoulder muscles to best effect.

    Guess I'll wait then.

True, but I've bought them because I like them and am merely inspired by the potential.

My thoughts exactly. I'm still not 100% convinced.

Interesting twist to name your shorts after dog breeds. :))

Seems almost lazy to use the same colour as the Grigio trunks doesnt it?

It's a great colour, and suits most skin tones I think. I'm pleased with the result, kind regards to those involved with the ID.

Remmert at James Bond Lifestyle has received a communication around these and felt confident enough to post on the site...I do know that orders for the Sky Setter have been VERY robust in the last 48 hours.

    +1. ;)

Bought 10 pairs of the Whippet in Sky. Will be on Ebay shortly. If they seem a bit tight in the front and roomy in the a*rse, its your non Bond body shape. :D
