Favorite Movie Poster

A poll on 007.com asks you to rate your top 10 posters so a commemorative 50th Anniversary poster can be made. That inspired me to as the forum: What is your favorite movie poster?

Personally, I'd go with the Live and Let Die poster. Lots going on to welcome in a new Bond.

My favorite is the YOLT poster where Bond is walking around the rim of the volcano. Also, a huge fan of LALD. Also a fan of several NSNA posters. They had that early bond look.

We're all of one mind here: I love the artwork of the '60s and '70s, and I think a lot has been lost since the producers went away from the painted posters. My personal favorites, in no particular order, are: YOLT, LALD, FYEO, and TSWLM.

Thunderball. It had it all - the epic scope of the movie and the underwater battle, the over the top action of the jet pack and the beauty of all the women. It was the first great painted poster, it had variety and conveyed all the excitement of the movie.

My favourites, in order, would be:

    1) The Living Daylights
    2) Live and Let Die
    3) For Your Eyes Only
    4) Moonraker
Then he looked again at Bond and spoke very quietly, the red moustache lifting slowly from the splayed upper teeth.
"I should spend the money quickly, Commander Bond," he said.
Then he turn away from the table and walked swiftly out of the room.

FRWL is a surprisingly bad one, as is GF but of course just Bond was enough to sell it back then.

DAF is a bit rubbish, too, then you return to the classic era. FYEO tended to earn scatalogical graffiti on the Tube, back in the day. NSNA, like everything else about it, was a bit substandard and while TLD is in retrospect quite fine, back then UK cinemas went with just the boring gunbarrel with Dalton, none of the fancy stuff around it. LTK is a stinker and the beginning of a trend where the teaser posters looked better than the main ones, which mostly continued up until CR.

I agree that LALD is superb, and MR is great. TSWLM is a bit cluttered imo but also very good.

My favorite as well. It's framed and hanging in my basement TV room.

The Casino Royale poster where Craig is reaching for his gun captures James Bond perfectly!

True, but that's not what they're offering up, that was a teaser poster and as is often the case, better than the one they went with.

I don't know if I'm thinking of the same one that you are (the horizontal one with the blue frame), but I love the FRWL poster. As an artist, I really like the loose/sketchy artistic style its done in. I actually made my own CR poster in the same style.

I will agree with TB as the best, the only recent poster that was any good is TWINE, it is somewhat remniscent of the older posters. I am talking about this one, http://imgc.allpostersimages.com/images/P-473-488-90/21/2173/I1LCD00Z/posters/the-world-is-not-enough.jpg

The only poster that I have on display in my home (it is in a frame in the living room) is the "narrow" Octopussy poster (the one with only Moore and Adams on it). Really like that one because it is very understated, but my favorites are the posters of the first 5 movies.
