I did see Bond movies on video when I grew up (NRK, the Norwegian version of BBC, never showed Bond movies). My first Bond movie in the cinema was LTK. I enjoyed them, but I didn`t become a Bond fan until 2005-06 when CR was in the works.
Another veteran of 30+ years. I remember seeing a double feature of TSWLM preceded by the Return of the Pink Panther. I don't think this was the theatrical release of TSWLM but it was certainly before MR so must have been '78. I remember - being an embarrassed English boy - of being horrified by the kissing scenes but transfixed by the action sequences. That Christmas there was a showing of GF (I think) and from then I was truly hooked.
The books, since 1968 when I was too young to "get" them.
The movies, since the summer of 1970 when first I saw the double-features re-released in the USA.
Can you imagine a time when there were only six films in the franchise?
I had to turn my back once or twice when the franchise sunk really low but CASINO ROYALE just about did me in.
Barbara Broccoli and Craig have succeeded so well at undermining and at spoiling the character there's not much left of James Bond, I'm afraid.

I so agree.

I was brought up on Bond films, and I always enjoyed it, but a really, crazy fan, I've been only for few weeks (months) I don't remeber, but not long. It started... August? Smth like that. Then I became absolutely crazy fan.

I saw my first film on TV when I was 3, yet I remember already knowing who Bond was, so almost my entire life I guess! Thanks must be given to my dad for ensuring my fandom, his own being 50 years this year
Watched DAF at the cinema when I was young, had the GF DB5 and the Moon buggy from DAF, and every time a Bond film was shown on telly it was a must view event, watched TMWTGG, TSWLM, MR at the cinema, then kind of lost interest, and didn't see another Bond film until I saw CR06 in a hotel in 2007, and My interest was rekindled, but there was a massive gap I had to make up from OP to DAD, Watched QOS at the cinema and SF, and managed to catch up thanks to
Sky's 007 channel ( still need to see LTK and OP all the way through) and I am completely hooked on everything Bond, read Casino Royale and will order the other Fleming books and, will invest in a Blu ray player and the boxed set, and will buy CR67 and NSNA.
I got the goldfinger Aston Corgi car ,as a little boy as a xmas present
from my parents so i was about 6 , had to be a secret agent after that
but got hooked on Wings LALD it was always on the radio in the car
(my dads ) Bond fan ever since
I've only been a REAL Bond fan since Skyfall. From GoldenEye to QoS I just saw them on TV here or there. Didn't really care too much about it. Then I joined some friends who went to see Skyfall and I loved it. I had no idea it had been going on for 50 years so I decided to read up on the history and it got me interested.
Now I'm watching them all in order. And it turns out I had never even seen Casino Royale before and I ended up liking that one even more than Skyfall!
1: Casino Royale 2: Goldeneye 3: Skyfall 4: Octopussy 5: Goldfinger 6: Tomorrow Never Dies 7: The World Is Not Enough 8: The Living Daylights 9: From Russia With Love 10: The Spy Who Loved Me
I've been a 'casual' Bond fan since I was about 8 or 9 when me and my best friend at the time used to watch old VHS copies of GF and GE!
I've been a bond 'obsessive' since 2011, when I brought the box set on DVD from HMV and actually watched the Daniel Craig re-boots and gave the Lazenby/Dalton films a chance. I've been hooked ever since and will be for many years to come! -{
11 or 12 years, my parents had recorded LALD on VHS for me, and I saw TSWLM on TV once, the only memory I had of that movie was Jaws on the big magnet And recently my Grandmother gave me some Fleming novels, Dr No, Goldfinger and Thunderball. Not sure if their 1st Editions, but they certainly are old!

I saw DN, FRWL, TB, YOLT, DAF, LALD and MR on TV, then I saw AVTAK, and it went on from there.

I remember going to the movie theater with my family to see Diamonds are Forever in a double-feature with You Only Live Twice.
