Jan 31 2012 (Western Mail (Cardiff, Wales)) -- A FILM
company rumoured to be behind the new James Bond movie has
pulled plans to use rural Wales as one of its locations.
Planning officers from Brecon Beacons Park Authority
recently received an application for the "temporary use of land
for a period of three months" at Mynydd y Llan on the Black
Mountain in Carmarthenshire.
Mystery surrounded the application with even the name of
the film company being kept under wraps.
Speculation was mounting that the new James Bond film, set
to go into production this year, was the secret project being
earmarked for the area.
But the film company have now blamed "logistical filming
factors" for pulling out. The park authority, which had
fast-tracked the planning request, said it was "incredibly
disappointed". A spokeswoman said: "We have been informed that
the area of Mynydd y Llan will not be used as a film set in
early 2012 due to logistical filming factors."
