It strikes me that American politics seems more diversified than it used to. I don't know who said: "The US only has one political party, but in their usual extravagant style they have two of it." Only a few decades ago it looks like there was some truth to this, but look at the presidential candidates now: There is quite a distance politically from Ted Cruz to Bernie Sanders. I think this is a positive thing in many ways. The American people get to chose between more real alternatives and the debates should (but not always are) more interesting.

Indeed! If Cruz and Sanders---each of whom are feared and loathed by the 'establishment' of their respective parties---end up as the nominees, there would certainly be a clear choice with a wide chasm in-between...but the long knives have been pulled from scabbards behind them, and both are Caesar preparing to visit the senate.

This is the reason I don't really want any of the two to win. Well ..... there are a ton of reasons why I don't want Cruz to win, but that's beside the point in this post. Cruz already has experience in stopping Congress from working, and I fear Sanders would have a lot of problems getting finding support there too. The US should get a president who knows how to work the political system and has a policy that has a fair ammount of support in congress and in the populace in general.

It's a fascinating primary season. There are more people dissatisfied with the state of affairs in the US than many would like to believe: Trump is a symptom of this, but IMO he is certainly not the solution to it. Nor is more of what we've had, IMO.

It's also possible New Hampshire is the beginning of the end for Trump and/or Sanders. If Trump doesn't win, it will be a clear signal the polls and turnout on his rallies doesn't equal actual votes. The (dark :v ) magic will be gone.
New Hampshire is Sanders' neighbour state, it's liberal and mostly white. It's quite possible he'll see his best results of the election there.

Sanders' big challenge will begin with the next one (one of the Carolina's?); he'll be riding high this evening, I have no doubt. On the GOP side, I won't even hazard a guess, except to predict that some of the remaining 'establishment' candidates are probably going to begin to surge today---some 'panic money' is being dropped on them now. If Bush or Rubio come in even second, it will significantly shuffle the conditions of the election.

The US should get a president who knows how to work the political system and has a policy that has a fair ammount of support in congress and in the populace in general.
That would doom us to simply more of the same IMO.
Bernie is a progressive and a fighter. If he had the stage, he could expose the truth to MORE Americans (how they're being screwed by corporate interests that basically own the preponderance of politicians). Sadly, this could also make him a target for assassination because they have so much to lose if he gets elected.

If Bernie gets the nomination, he'll need to pick his VP candidate carefully...he's not a kid anymore. I say this because it always comes up whenever a candidate over 70 years old runs for the office. Reagan, Dole, McCain, etc all faced this, and arguably it applies to Hillary and Trump (he's 69?) as well. We haven't had a president die of natural causes in office for quite a long time; from an actuarial standpoint, its statistical likelihood is always on the table.

Went as I imagined for Sanders...much is being made of the margin of victory (which I'm happy about - a humiliated Hillary makes me feel warm inside. May it continue, please). On the GOP side, the 2nd and 3rd place finishes of Kasich(?!) and Bush (?!?), respectively, are the real story, IMO. Christie is expected to quit soon.

A bad night for the establishments of both parties. There is some hope for Clinton since she will probably do better more racially diversified states further south, but it looks like Sanders will be a contender for some time yet. Hillary simply lacks her husband's ability to excite the public, and scandals like her e-mails and Benghasi are probably hurting her.
Kash ... Kish ... Kich ..... (googles ......) Kasich is the new establishment hopefull in the GOP. To be honest I know next to nothing about this man. Let's see what he does with the attention I gets at the moment, since Rubio blew it after Iowa.
