Hmm I agree its a shame not to wear a watch - being a sucker for collecting Daniel Craig era stuff I bagged a new condition Co-Axial Seamaster (I sold my beaten up one to help fund my Submariner however I saw this new one and bit the bullet). Prob wear it on the odd occasion when I feel like a change but it certainly won't take the Sub off my wrist!
I am keeping here 5 LE Omegas and several discontinued Rolex watches, which are never worn - it's a shame. So hit me
Bondtoys,
With your pretty big watch collection whats your opinion / options on servicing them all? The ones which are "collected / unused" do you keep them running at all? I guess if not then servicing is not really required!!!
I have this image of you opening your vault and sending a random 20 of your many hundred watches away for a service each year
I am keeping the collectible watches "as they are" in the safe.
I am fortunate to have access to a Rolex trained watchmaker for my watches in use and I get them serviced every 5-7 years. or so. But I must say, that I am regularly wearing 2-3 watches. The other watches maybe once every 1-2 years.
For the moment, I am circling between the Submariner C and the IWC Mark XVI. When I'll be travelling, I'll use the GMT II.
My Vacheron, that I am wearing once every 2 years has never been serviced. It's still running (after 20 years) and the damage of running is with dry oils for that period is almost zero.
Btw, I am soon buying a Magnum P.I period accurate GMT Master.
Like that:
Not sure, if I'll wear it though

This one has more immediate presence.
My wifes 1966 Omega pie pan Constellation. Which I like because like me it still works, and looks pretty good even if its showing a bit of wear.
Here is what I have in the mean time
Very nice Rolex and Kingston.
