£620? Someone has more money than sense if you ask me! Lucky for the seller though... :o

I wonder if the bottom will fall out of the QoS sunglasses market once the Skyfall sunglasses are confirmed too?

A pair sold for $2,000 USD via a Buy-It-Now listing back in November. See Post #31 here - http://www.ajb007.co.uk/topic/37173/tom-ford-sunglasses/page/2/

    Go figure. Supply and demand.

Hmm not sure it is just about supply and demand... I think it is probably more to do with some people (with a lot of money to throw about) don't want to shop around.

The CK TND sunglasses took off in price after the Persols and the TF sunglasses came around.

So I would rather say, that the TF will raise when the new movie brings new sunglasses.

Go figure what? Even at £620 that's much cheaper than $2000! Also others have sold for much less than the £620 figure as linked to above. I agree that it will be supply and demand but these sunglasses are not rare - spend time looking for them and ye will find for less than either of the two figures mentioned above.

People who pay silly money when a much cheaper pair can be found just have more money than sense.

That's exactly my point. The price of these sunglasses is all across the board, some selling new for about $500, and in the case of the pair I referenced, $2,000 for a used pair. It's ALL about supply and demand in the issues I reference here. At the time the pair sold for $2,000, it was the only pair for sale on eBay. Someone with a lot of disposable income wanted them bad enough to buy them. Simple as that. On the flip side, I remember a member here trying to sell a pair last year for sticker price, and there were no takers. That's why I say "go figure."

Anybody know the model name for the original Oliver Peoples aviators that the TFs are modelled after?

I bought the TF's and returned them because they simply were not the right shape for my face. As someone who has worn eyeglasses all of my life (and been an avid sunglasses collector) I was shocked at how cheap I found them to be. Temple arms covered in leather? Unless you clean them and afterwards add a leather conditioner they will not last if you wear them on a regular basis! Compared to other italian made sunglasses (some of which are my favorites) I found them to be lacking in quality.

However, I bought them for $199.00 USD and kind of regret not keeping them to sell on ebay! $2000.00??? That being said, I would really feel as though I were taking advantage of someone by selling them at that price!

To each his own! As one of you guys wrote - supply and demand!

Yup they do feel quite flimsy and toyish though I do love the style. The Oliver Peoples Airman which it is based on is much better quality!

I am an avid collector of both Oliver Peoples sunglasses and eyeglasses. I agree, they are excellent! Always best to get them at a discount if possible. The quality, style and finish are one of the best out there!

Looking forward to the warmer weather to get more use out of them! {[]

I have been very happy with my TF108s, and I wear them every day. I agree they are not the most rugged I've seen, but for style they can't be beat. I am currently searching for the OPs so I can compare.

If people start paying $2000 for a pair of these everyone better start getting them insured! Also try not to get mugged while on holiday wearing them... 8-)

I've heard that someone had 4 pairs of Tf QoS sunglasses for sale here for US$ 250,-- a pair
    http://www.bondtoys.de

That person was AHDK. He sold me a pair but they didn't arrive. He gave me a false tracking number also.
The 3 other pairs did not arrive to their buyers also. Fortunately we have been refunded by Paypal.
I cannot believe that 4 pairs of glasses got lost in the post.
    Very dodgy.

I was gonna say that when something sounds too good to be true... but then the same thing could'e happened if the item was expensive. I don't think it's worth being paranoid over though. It seems like Paypal was useful in recovering the money, and you have trust other people to some degree, just like on eBay.

I agree that one should not get paranoid over it - otherwise you would never trust any seller. Also things do indeed go wrong through no fault of the seller or buyer. However, all these sunglasses posted to different people all going missing? Very fishy! :s

nms75....and anybody else....PLEASE be very careful when posting comments such as the one above...I'm not defending anybody, or condoning any practise or behaviour...but such comments are libelous and COULD get, not only yourself, but AJB into trouble...
AJB can only do it's best to protect/help it's members...sometimes it doesn't go to plan...everyone got their money back - so that was something.
However, if you have PROOF it was a scam...please don't keep it to yourself and PM me with information.

    Now...back to the original topic please -{
