A week or so back this "yacht" sailed into the local harbor in Stockton, California ....

Nice call. But somehow, makes me think, we didn't see much of the yacht in the film did it? You'd think it would have made a reappearance in the Venice scene, okay, villain was dead then, but we could have seen Mr White step onto it after grabbing the cash. Or see it parked outside the villa where Bond nabs him at the end.

There is a yacht owner that must be a massive Bond fan.
I have seen his MS Moonraker and MS Octopussy with the correct movie logos in Cannes some years ago. Wonder if he had EONs blessings

A news station did a feature on this boat and the owner (sorry, no eyepatch). I was going to post the story a while back, but couldn't find the right area to post it. Give me some time, I'll find the video.

I don't know all the dealings, but if I recall correctly, the man who had the boat (or at least another similar looking boat with the Casino Royale logo on it) built, sold it and had a new one made called 'Quantum of Solace', which I took a photo of because it was (is?) docked in Palm Beach. My best friend's mother is the original owner's employee/assistant and she talked about him having the boats built and having sold the CR boat when he decided to get a QoS boat as a replacement.

Not sure if there is more than one guy doing these, but I just know about the specific similar situation from the rich guy down here. He is indeed a massive Bond fan. He owns a car collection nearby that is a bookable venue for events and the building is themed around an old American town with a diner and drive-in and such included (He owns the first Batmobile). I believe he still owns QoS and makes his money from a successful network of car dealerships.
