Hi everyone!
Now that the topic of alcohol is current thanks to Heineken, I'd like to ask something: Is there a definitive source for the opinion that in that scene Bond really has his rum with cola (acording to the JB Lifestyle anyways)?
I was having rum with gingerbeer last weekend and it has that same cloudy dark appearance as rum and cola. And furthermore; The Dark and Stormy would be appropriate in the Bahamas. Also while drinking dark rum with just club soda is doable, DaS is much more better tasting drink!
Thanks... {[]

I have to agree that it's prob more rum and soda, than rum and coke. Rum and coke is such a sweet drink - and as we know, he like vodka martini's, I would imagine he would prefer a less sweeter tasting drink...
Although any bar tender worth his salt would ask the drinker his rum of choice....I'm going to have to check now and see what is said!!!

Does he?... Well there you go! Mount Gay was the rum of choice when I was in the Caribbean...
I disagree, I mixed Mount Gay Rum with club soda myself and it had more the appearance of a Seven Seven. The darker concoction seen on screen could be attributed to a higher concentration of rum and lower concentration of cola as often mixed in highball cocktails at bars.
