    Yes, I thought of Moonraker when I saw that. The Space Shuttle flew in Moonraker before it did in reality. :007)

    The Shuttle will be remembered as much for the tragedies as for the triumphs. It looked pretty simple on the outside but was very complicated to operate and very expensive to maintain. Too expensive in the end. I was always impressed with the launch procedure, the way it would rock back before lift off and then roll afterwards followed later by the booster seperation. A very impressive sight on tv, what must it have been like for those who saw it for real?

    I was fortunate enough to visit the Kennedy Space Center in 1990 and was able to see the Shuttle on the launch pad from a distance of approx two miles. The view was restricted by the launch pad gantry but it was still a pretty impressive sight.
