Goldeneye digital door decoder prop replica

Hi guys, thought I'd shown off this little ba$t@rd now it's finally finished.

The project started ok, and after 2 weeks it was all put together... Only to discover the battery didn't fit. Literally a 'back to the drawing board' moment.

Anyways, I've been dying to make this for an age. Hopefully you guys will agree that the constant research, looking for obsolete parts and watching the start of goldeneye on loop for hours has finally paid off.

Enjoy the pics, and there's a clip at the bottom

Hang on, I've gotta get the other stuff done yet. Won't take long, only about 6 minutes, or is that 3?

Thanks for the kind comments guys, great to see there's still a bit of interest in the props.

I really have to be honest though, the light sequence circuit isn't mine, it was an expensive commission done by a talented guy as electronics at that level isn't my area of expertise. Sadly this guy has now retired from custom stuff and just sells basic kits for light chasers etc. however I'm currently working on something with a new sparky which should be pretty cute when it's done.

What did you guys think to the video clip?

Jeff, the video clip is the business and you've answered my only question above. I can solder and build circuits with a fair degree of quality but my expertise doesn't stretch to designing the circuits from scratch. Did I'd your guy supply you with a circuit diagram or do you have any good photos of the board and components, if so I could probably come up with a design from there. Just a thought.

Nice idea Andy, but there's no need to make more.

For a start, I'm not planning a run of these for all the obvious reasons.

Then there's the moral aspect of it. I paid a guy to take the time to design and build the circuit from scratch. To take his design and make coin from it, ie sell anyone the plans or schematic just doesn't seem fair. Sure if it were my design then it'd be a different story, but it's not my work and not for me to profit from.

    Nice idea though pal.
