James Bond and the Moon

Hi everyone,

Could someone tell me whether the Moon can be seen in any of the James Bond movies? I do remember a couple of night scenes with the moon in the background, but have no idea which movie this might have been. I think with Sean Connery, but am not sure.

Does the movie 'Moonraker', which I have only seen parts of, actually contain the Moon or has anything to do with the Moon? If not, where does the title come from?

Any enlightening posts with regard to this are much appreciated! Thank you. :)

    Hi naranja67, welcome aboard. -{

    As far as Moonraker goes,

It's the topmost sail on a ship, and there is a story of Smugglers who while reeling in Barrels of Booze
where stopped by a customs offical who askedwhat they where doing and replied "Raking the Moon "
and so became known as Moonrakers.

Here's a couple of links to the story and some Moonraker facts.

    Hi Thunderpussy,

These links are really helpful, thank you so much!

@ Moonraker - the James Bond movie
How does the movie/novel relate to any of the definitions of moonraker?
Does the Moon actually appear in the movie at some point, or are any references made to the Moon?
Is this outer space station on the Moon?

I can't remember the moon being seen in the film, and the space station is nowhere near the moon, it's floating around, google it if you want.

Can't recall the moon being in any other Bond films either, maybe out the train window when Grant is tersely chatting with Bond near the end of FRWL? Not sure.

Is it in the last shot of DAF when Tiff Case asks about how to get the diamonds down? Thing is, most space shots are to do with space ships and so on, so the moon would actually be a distraction.

Oh, I get you. You think the Moon will feature in Boyd's new 1969-set novel...

Oh, we see Maud Adams' backside in Octopussy... :D

In DAF Bond bursts in while the moon landing is being faked then steals their rover. Also if you watch carefully you can see where the rover loses its wheel during the chase scene
