Holy Jesus, I think I've just found tv's biggest waste of electricity.
I'd originally thought it was Jeremy Kyle who'd notched up the most hours of people's lives wasted, but sh1t shock horror, no, it's jibberish spouting auctioneer Sean and his his crap ass lame scripted 'real life' series, Storage Hunters.
The idea is simple. Someone rents a storage unit, fills it with crap, defaults on the rent and the 'bin' gets repossessed along with its contents which are auctioned off to recover the lost rent. On call to pop the locks and earn a healthy profit are a bunch of regular actors, sorry, 'business people' who make their living by buying low and selling high.
However, not all is as believable as it sounds.
I've just seen one guy pay $300 for a lock up full of old crap and lo n behold, beneath a sheet are 20 designer tuxedos.... Handy.
Then another unit gets bought that's full of canoes and snowboards. Oh and what's this in a discarded coat pocket? Why it's a mint condition gold DuPont lighter worth $600, how fortunate!
It seems that no matter what the contents, there always seems to be a holy grail, a saving grace that's gonna save the day and make the purchase all worth while.
What a loada shyte.

Storage auctions are real. People score with them all the time. Sometimes they lose too. Of course they wanna air the good scores. Not show them crapping out.
Oh yeah. I flicked onto that, and some sh1t repossession show, and trucks negotiating nothing more dangerous than a stoney lane... Some serious crap on tv!
