Swedish "Super" spy, Carl Hamilton - I Nationens Intresse

Hamilton - I Nationens Intresse (In the Interest of the Nation) started new espionage trilogy based on the books of Swedish novelist Jan Guillou. Swedish actor Mikael Persbrandt stars new Hamilton movies and first which premiered earlier this year (Feb) is now out on DVD/Blu-Ray. Persbrandt prepared for the role of intelligence officer Carl Hamilton with Navy Seals and Swedish Elite Force - SSG.
In the pre-title sequence, Hamilton carries same boot knife as Bond in QoS, but instead of handing CRKT Sting over to his superiors, Swedish Commander brutally slits bad guys throat and stabs with it multiple times to eliminate the threat

It`s a good movie,I recomend it. I also think the lead, Mikael Persbrandt, would make an amazing Bond villan. Good actor, tall (6`3`` I think), arrogant, deep voice, muscular and threathening. A villan who could do the early,tense meating with Bond and look lke he could really kill Bond.

Agreed, movie is pretty good. Persbrandt's character is well built, not just physically, but very much like in Guillou's books - cold-blooded government official who wont hesitate to act and execute, when it's matter of national or international affairs.
Hamilton is also well brought to 21st century to post 9/11 intelligence community.

Always liked Persbrandt as an actor, well ever since he was Martin Becks tough sidekick Gunvald Larsson in Swedish Beck movies.
