Why do these go so fast ? There's a 30,000 pieces run and they're snapped up everywhere. Is it all us 007 collectors or something for Bollinger enthousiasts as well ?
The Canadian news magazine Maclean's has just produced a 100-page special edition just on the 50th Anniversary of Bond for $12.95. It's quite good with all the usual sections (villains, girls, drinks, gadgets, cars etc etc) plus one on Canadian connections to the books and films. Worth picking up.
Yeah .... I got the same problem - that thing is locked - looks like some secret coded numbers - highly sophisticated
I tried all the known codes 111, 222, 333, etc.
nothing works )
In light of the 50th Anniversary of James bond I am selling an exclusive limited run shirt. You can bid on the item below this link and please read the description carefully. 50% of proceed will be going to Susan G. Komen for the Cure of New York.

Profiles in History has a 50th anniversary Bond posters auction coming up. It wouldn't surprise me if they will be filming it for their Hollywood Treasures show. The catalog isn't up yet but they have some notable posters detailed on their site.
Does anyone remember anything major done for the 40th anniversary? I guess I was expecting more from the 50th anniversary. That Bond Posters book isn't complete and has text errors. The Taschen book still isn't out yet. I hope that is the Bond book to own. The Blu-ray set isn't as good as it should be for the 50th anniversary. I was looking at the Universal Monsters set and even though it doesn't come in a large book package. That set does have a booklet and a bunch of extras. Same goes for the Blade Runner anniversary set which comes with a book, concept car toy/model, and other extras. As a Bond fan I'm feeling a bit let down by this anniversary showing.
I ask as there are very good books from DK (Encyclopedia of James Bond) and for example the Skyfall onset book... is there anything that the Taschen book gives that no other one does?

Haven't had a chance to flick through it yet but I did see it in a display case over the weekend and it is absolutely gi-normous! I had no idea. According to Amazon it's 19x13x3cm. Well, there was no way the one I saw was that size. It was considerably closer to 19x13x3 INCHES! Maybe the one I saw was the limited edition one, although it wasn't identified as such. According to Amazon teh standard edition weighs 7kg/16lbs...which would be rather difficult if their original dimensions are correct...unless the pages are made of lead. So I'm assuming that it really is that big, that it's actually not just a coffee table book but an actual coffee table without legs and I am assuming therefore that it must be the definitive book on the films and packed with a lot of photos etc that we haven't seen before. But I am just guessing.

It's not out yet over here for a few more days. But Taschen books are a bit upscale compared to DK. The first 250 limited books at $1000 are sold out too. I'm downloading a preview now.
