Cool. Traditional yet distinctive. . .and I hope it signals that the film will start with the gun barrel!
I'm with you there, Hardy. This seems like something of a commitment to the gun barrel...at least, I hope so. Very, very cool. I've got the CR teaser poster on the wall of my living room right now (along with the posters for FRWL and DAF)...might have to find room for another... -{

Anyone else notice it's not just a gunbarrel, but a tunnel he's walking through?
This has been noted elsewhere. It's been referred to as the classic gunbarrel combined with the London Underground. Anyone following the production of Skyfall will be aware that scenes were filmed in the London Underground and a set was also built at Pinewood.

Looks lovely as my desktop background...I'm always excited for a new Bond film (of course), but this one is shaping up to be something special.

No-one can accuse them of being overly origional, but I like it very much! The poster is simple, classical and very distinctive. It is very much a BOND poster.
Traditional, distinctive, simple, effective are comments that I agree with. Like others have said, I do hope this is a true indication that the classic gunbarrel will be back at the start of Skyfall.

It might not be 1964 but it is the 50th anniversary of Bond and those films have a history of some of the best illustrated posters ever. Plus posters as art is making a come back. Check out Mondo posters and the notable directors involved with the company.
A lot of people are saying how simple this teaser poster is. It is simple and boring. Yes the gun barrel is there but that's it. Maybe they won't forget that it belongs at the beginning of the film this time around. This is probably one of the worst of all the modern Bond teaser posters. I have no interest in owning it.

Your right, the Gunbarrel does need to be at the beginning of the film. Being this is the first official poster for the movie maybe it's a hint that the Gunbarrel will be at the beginning of the film.
The first image of a Bond movie is the Gunbarrel. This is the first poster and it has a gun barrel. I think many great posters are yet to come.
Some people would complain even if you hang them with a new rope

I hope that you are right. The problem is that the gun barrel should have been at the beginning of Quantum of Solace. The director didn't get Casino Royale. Of course, it wouldn't have saved Quantum from being a crap Bond movie. I just feel that this is a no risk poster. It feels like focus group, photoshop, committee design. The Bond franchise is almost guaranteed to be profitable. It's the 50th anniversary. Why not take a small bit of risk. Especially with a teaser poster that only fans really care about.
I think some of the Fan made posters were Better. It's not bad, just not Great.
and I'd much prefer to see DC walking into the light rather than away from it )
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
I like it! Black and white with shades of grey, devoid of color, rather stark. A visual metaphor for a spie's life perhaps? Still, I think the advance poster for CR is the best of Craig era so far, but this is pretty cool.

So, what sharp little eyes you've got...wait till you get to my teeth.

I like the tunnel/barrel. I was a bit 'meh', (but I had just woken up). But after a S,S & S I change my judgement. Gloomy and stark, which I the mood I want Skyfall to have.

I disagree that there will be "many more" posters. My feeling is that this is it until the official poster with cars, guns and girls etc. Remember QoS? All we had was the shadow pic right up until release, upon which we got DC and OK walking away from the exploding hotel. I would expect something similar this time round.
Indeed. To me this is a powerful statement of "James Bond is back". We re-introduced him to you in CR, failed miserably to reveal any more of him to you in QoS (but we puked out a gunbarrel as an afterthought at the end), but now the Bond you know and love is indeed back.
This is the first big use of original Bond-iconography with Daniel Craig. In 6 years. The first proper gunbarrel image we've seen since DAD. I'm not complaining!
The "Skyfall" teaser poster is fine. Should be interesting to see the regular poster. IMO the teaser posters for both LTK and TLD were two of the best..
Nice poster, can't give it Strangeways unconditional love, it's Craig's beleaugured expression. As someone in Goodfellas says, 'You looked like ya just f==== your mom!"

But then it's grown on me. It's very stark... which I like. The black and white suits Daniel... and the image is certainly striking.
Can't wait for the trailer now... one reason to look forward to Monday

Seriously, not a bad piece of "art". Does its job; the world now knows there is a new Bond film being made for release shortly.
But hardly indicates that Craig-Bond III is going to be a lighter ride but more of the same, middle age man with M'y issues.
I wonder if they found some inspiration from this ? )

But otherwise, nice effect, classy.
