Some are saying the recent poster is the one sheet for Skyfall. I seriously hope it isn't. If it is, they have topped themselves for lack of originality.
As a long standing Bondy poster collector, if that IS? the official release poster bearing in mind for the 50th Anniversary it should be something special...NOT IMPRESSED!

I'm not impressed either... I mean where is the origionalility in that? At lease Craig is standing properly this time.
There has been some fan art that has been way more artistic than this.... oh dear

Personally the teaser poster with DC firing his PPK on his back grabs me better & even that was as simple as it gets..plain white background, Tom Ford rolled in the dirt (best use for one) & a PPK..Sweet!
For the main release I was expecting something special & can only hope the Japanese push the boat out & not do what they did for Quantum & use the same international image every other major country utilised which was also somewhat lacking!
Sony Pictures/EON: it's not too late for an in yer face Frank McCarthy and Robert McGinnis style art campaign which would be talked about & marvelled at for another 50 glorious years!
Is it me or does it look rather fake / bad fan art?
I hope thats the case
Well regrettably it matches the other images in the advertising campaign & that is an image of DC with PPK I have not seen before or at least not that particular head on shot. Additionally it is also the correct generation of PPK so to me all points point to it being genuine or at least to it being an original image from the proofs the Skyfall DC character one sheet was selected from.
Awful, not one for the walls. I never really see the point of those press shots that the poster books are all full of, where everyone major in the cast gets their own lobby card shot, like some wedding photo thing.
I was hoping that seeing "Coming Soon" on the poster on DigitalSpy was a positive sign. However, the poster on the 007 twitter link has the actual date. I think this is it. Maybe one more poster with the song credits. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same image or some kind of variation. The Daniel Craig era posters are all strongly focused on him. Not that it's a bad thing. He is Bond. But other elements make good posters. It is really sad that a character that had one of the best poster campaigns. One that entire books are devoted to. One that is supposedly celebrating his 50th anniversary. Is reduced to this.
If this is the final poster, I'm afraid I'm not terribly fussy on it either. It's fine as one in a series of character posters, but I don't like it as the final Skyfall image at all, I'm afraid. I have no issue with DC being the central image and the gun barrel behind, but I think we need some other imagery behind...like the burning house, etc etc. Fingers crossed that this is 'a' poster and not 'the' poster.
Mi6-hq.com is reporting that this isn't the final theatrical poster, and that another is coming (possibly on October 5th) so perhaps there is still hope, although given what we have seen so far it is unlikely that another poster would be much better.
I had such high hopes when the first teaser came out. I really liked it.
I'm hoping (and indeed praying) that this is not the final poster. Never has a Bond poster left me so bitterly underwhelmed. Do the producers read these forums? The response has been so unanimously negative - we need something else for the final one-sheet.

I would be shocked if we get an illustrated poster at this point. I would go as far as saying there is no chance of it. Given what we've seen so far an illustrated poster is the last thing on their mind. For the Daniel Craig era, we haven't even received a good compilation poster. And good ones with modern artwork aren't that great. Iron Man is probably the best that I can think of right now.

The producers are anti-risk. It would have been easy for them to get McGinnis to do a Bond teaser poster. Or have Mondo do a Bond series. They have worked with known directors before like Guillermo del Toro and Martin Scorsese. We could have Mondo posters for all the Bond movies or one per actor. But no we get the safe route.
SilentSpy, I long ago gave up hoping an illustrated poster. I would still hope though, that we might get what you referred to as "a good compilation poster". It's a pity that this iconic element of Bond lore is being short-changed in the modern era, especially with the 50th anniversary. You would think that this might inspire some nostalgia (or even just creativity!) in the marketing campaign.

I concur with all sentiments that this poster is an underwhelming addition to the mix. Craig's pose isn't bad but the background is pretty awful. To be honest, I haven't really liked any of the SKYFALL posters thus far. But I doubt this new one will impact on my interest in the final film. After all, I dislike the CASINO ROYALE poster intensely but love the film.
I'd agree with Sir Miles that the lack of a singer's name must mean a final poster is imminent. Whether Adele or whoever, EON & co can't possibly allow any advertising to preclude such hot vocal talent.

I agree.

The only thing that makes me wary of that poster is that there is no singer mentioned.....can't see Eon not adding that in

how convenient it is for the omega to be poking out of his cuffs, i'm surprised a TF label isn't dangling out of his jacket.
its gotta be fan art surely? when you look back at other posters, this is lame to the point its embarrassing.
