Connery is Back
Better pic in yesterday's i newspaper, which had a feature on Bond's gourmet tendencies.
He hasn't aged in 30 years... mainly cos he looked about 80 back then!
Still... "good to see you again Mister Bond". Oh no, hang on that was a Moore film.

I did wonder if he was ill or something when he just disappeared and retired.
Gives me hope he may appear for the 50th Anniversary celebrations ....
A true legend, without Connery, there would be no Bond.
No, without Ian Fleming there would be no bond. Connery was good, sure but the longevity of the franchise didn't hinge on his involvement.
Besides;
You ever seen anyone this happy before? Crack ya jowls Seany.
This pic would make a great caption comp. All I can think of is;
"jeeshush chrisht I wish I'd shtayed at hom. Thish frackin' idiot shmiles at me one moore time n I'll shmash in hish plumbsh"

Perhaps you're right, but I'm not so sure the cinematic incarnation of Bond would have been as successful (and long-lasting) had Connery started it off with such a bang. His impact shouldn't be underestimated.
"Perhaps"????? If Fleming hadn't created Bond there would be no Bond. End of debate. The success of the films, the longevity of the series etc being attributable to Connery or Saltzman or Broccoli or anything else is all supposition. But without Fleming there is no Bond.
Sorry, rantings of a literary-Bondist here! I'll get me coat and return to the library now...
He's 82 and he looks good for his age.
)
"What the hell's wrong with him?"
"He's 82."
That's how the whipper snappers all actually think these days.
I think he does indeed look good for his age.
But it appears he will not be making any public appearances in support of James Bond's 50th anniversary. According to the National Enquirer, Connery will not be participating in any 007 tributes. Connery publicist Nancy Seltzer is quoted: "Sean is, and remains, retired and has declined making public appearances." That includes a star studded dinner for Bond cast and crew members to coincide with the release of the latest film, Skyfall. The Enquirer claims Connery still feels bitter that he was shortchanged by the original Bond producers, he claims he got less than one-fiftieth off the fortune they made off his six Bond films.
Of course, the real reason Murray was crying at losing the Wimbledon final was a Scotsman missing out on all that dosh - he and Sean have something in common.
Anyway, banter aside, great to see Murray bag the big one.

I hope I look in as good shape as Sir Sean when I hit my eighties! Setting aside the clothes are for a more casual relaxed approach, (Mr Craig appears to be the only Bond actor the press accept in casual clothes,) he looks like he is very much he is in charge of himself.
Clearly he knows he is being papped, he looks peeved in one of the pics! Can't say I blame him.
