On a related firearms note, according to imfdb, Bond is sporting an HK416 during the Skyfall manor assault - http://www.hk-usa.com/military_products/hk416_general.asp

Oh, by the way, the guy taking the shot is not bond, he seemingly is someone bond confronts!
I don't believe it's either of those two rifles. Both are .50cal and that would be extremely hard to fire in a kneeling position as we see in the teaser. Those rifles are typically fired from a prone position with the rifle on a bipod. Also, a .50cal doesn't make an ideal round for a sniper, unless it's a military sniper in combat. The rifles are far too heavy, bulky and large for a sniper. The caliber of the Skyfall sniper rifle is probably 7.62 x 51 mm. Just my two cents.
Kind regards,
Craig

But on saying that it look like a striped down of the L98A with just the blot and mag and the out side is cosmetic as it where.
Clear from the still above that it's not Bond holding that rifle, it's definitely not a Q-branch item.
What the guy is holding as a foregrip is, for some reason, made to resemble an extended magazine, only the kind you'd see on a pistol-caliber gun with the mag mounted in front of the grip like this:
Obviously the 'real' magazine is beneath the chamber, and while we're on that, in the picture it appears that the chamber is empty. And by empty, I don't just mean unloaded, I mean that it appears there is a big gaping hole there from a missing part. There's no 'chamber' there... at least that's how it appears from the photo.
Also, the position of the stock is questionable... it is placed lower than the bore axis, or, in other words, beneath the height of the barrel. This is generally not a good idea because it enhances the effects of recoil. You typically want the stock to be at or above the bore axis if possible. Look up the CZ-75 pistol for a good explanation of why/how the relationship between the bore axis and the grip affects recoil.
And that doesn't appear to be a scope he's staring down... it looks like a carrying handle, like what you'd see on a heavy machine gun... not something that would be on a relatively small assault rifle. And if that IS supposed to be a scope, well, it's way tiny, has two mounting points (not standard at all!) and is mounted way too high above the rifle. If it IS a carrying handle, it's odd that he's looking down it as if it were sights (and no other sort of sights appear to be present).
Then there's the overall boxiness of the frame and the... silencer/flash suppressor-looking-thing.
And then there's that weird wire-loop trigger with no guard.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the gun is completely fictional. May or may not have a few real gun parts.
You. Don't. Say. 8-)

Nothing to report on the rifle... It still can be Q-branch model/item, well Major Anya Amasova had stolen Sub-Lotus prints from MI6 in The Spy Who Loved Me
