What else could it be look at the distinct trigger guard shape and overall chunkyness of the gun..

You don't reckon we'll ever see the p99 again?
  • minigeffminigeff EnglandPosts: 7,884MI6 Agent
I hope we do tbh, but I prefer the look of the earlier p99's.

It's a cool gun, but maybe bond should go for something more realistic? The p99 is quite a chunk to easily conceal, but there again the ppk has low capacity and the S&W version suffers slide bite I hear.

I dunno, is there a good all rounder, a new iconic bond gun?

I know a few would say the asp should get some screen time, but who knows.

I was on this set, and I've never heard p99 mentioned anywhere in the 'behind the scenes' info I've received. But, that's not to say the p99 isn't in there, all I'm saying is if this is a p99 it's the first time I've seen of it being used in SF.

More importantly.... what the hell's he wearing?

Velvety shawl collar? Opening neck shirt? Gentleman's silk dressing gown, then, eh????

Perhaps he's been warming himself by the fire. Hang on, isn't M meant to be in this bit o' the film... :o

The only other pistol that's been shown in stills(at least that I'm aware of )is the Glock 17,in the hands of Eve and Mallory, and both, while identifiable, aren't in sharp focus. The gun in the above photo was caught in recoil, but while I can't say it is
a Glock, I can't rule it out either.
Does anyone know what scene this shot is from?

    Regards,

    Tecolote

By the looks of the trigger guard, safe mechanism and front barrel , it seems to me it is a Heckler and Koch pistol. It could be the Usp 45 or the compact version but I believe it is the HK Socom because of the big size. Maybe Bond just took the gun of someone, like the Browning in CR at the madagascar misson, but it could be the p99... But I doubt it!
You know in America it’s “bling, bling”, but out here it’s “bling, bang”.

It is a Walther p99. I held my gun up to the picture and it is it

Its what i thought as well gotta be especially for in being the 50th special anniversay!

We need a sharper picture to confirm that it really is a Walther. I hope it is though.

    Every detail matches the Walther

P99, 90% sure of it. There was a publicity photo on a boat on the Thames with him wearing the same dinner jacket/no tie combo.

They're keeping his QoS dinner jacket I see. I think perhaps to go with a more realistic approach to Bond's wardrobe, unlike the previous films where he had a new tux for every scene that required one. Also, it harks to Connery's one from Dr. No and FRWL.

Ah, if only Sir Roger was still doing the Movies. I'm sure
    there'd be a line about " how he always prefered a 69 to a 99 " :))

Its definitely a Glock, and heres the new Walther, i like how they updated it to the PPK/S, which holds an additional round as well as being marginally more powerful.

Daft question but how is it more powerful? I assume ya mean the 9mm compared to the 7.65mm?

Also, anyone else feeling the same as me where I thought the ppk/s as a kinda crappy alternative, but now bond has one it's pretty cool.

From the second trailer, it seems that the modified grip has a scanner function like in LTK.
Not sure, if the PPK/S is more powerful in Skyfall
President of the 'Misty Eyes Club'.

Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!

it just fires a slightly more powerful round, 380/9mm over the 32/7.65mm

Too bad Walther doesn't really make the PPK/S in 9mm. Waiting for them to announce it....
