Although to be honest, I think it's the job of every new generation. To
Piss off the older one. ;)

Oh I think that's a given. But just even holding the door open for someone. It's a lost art to the generation of kids with their hoods up.

I think that comes down to how they were raised...

I've got a 10 year old, and I'm instilling these manners into him, but it's bloody hard work.

Also, at school, they don't seem to be so hot on manners, like when I was at school... we had to stand up when an adult came into a room, and if we didn't stand aside when an adult was walking on the corridor, we got a bollocking.

This just doesn't seem to happen any more, so it's up to the parents. And there are a lot of 30+ men that don't know manners either... and these are now Dad's themselves, so it's going to be lost altogether... :#

I agree with the manners being instilled in them from their parents. I've seen as many men as I have women. I'm talking about OAPs aswell. If you're standing at a train station waiting for a train, as soon as it comes, I see them making a beeline to push past people to get on first.

Had to put petrol in the car the other day ,no other cars on the fore court ,pulls up ,opens tank flap pulls out nozzle, the previous customers bill hasn't been cleared of the screen ,so there am I waving, trying to attract the attention of the petrol clerk ,a small thing but very annoying :p

Have you seen any of those 'Educating Cardiff/Yorkshire/Essex' programs ?? My hubby and I watch those in disbelief at the way the kids speak the teachers. Swearing, shouting, phones etc all seem to be allowed. I asked my daughter if they stood up for teachers and she looked at me like I was mad. As you say it was always when a teacher walked in the room you automatically stood up and said 'Good Morning Mr Whatever" ...

I had two nice young men come to my house recently ( :o ) for some work and I actually commented to my hubby about how polite they had both been because it is so unusual. I felt very old :))

I agree about the ignorance, bad manners and stupidity of some drivers at
    Petrol pumps 8-)
Only last week pulled in behind a car waiting to fill up, guessing the driver was
Inside paying or buying something. After a while, out he comes, gets in the passenger
side, ( as the driver had been in it all the time !) X-(
If that had have been me, when my passenger got out to go to the shop, I'd have moved
the car away from the fuel pumps, to let others use them. Then again some people are
    Just **** ! :#

I'm appauled to read such behaviour at petrol stations. I mean, these places are flamable!

I don't drive, but when on holiday with mates that do, I'll stay put if the driver is paying. If its my turn to pay, I'll take note of the pump number, anything else we need to buy, and make a bee line for the shop. That way I can pay for everthing and get back to the car so we can get out of the way for the next car ASAP.
What is wrong with some people? Don't parents drill manners under threat of death into kids any more?
I hasten to add my folks are lovely people, but they made sure I knew what please and thank you are all about or else!

Thank You. (Steps of the box, and heads for the SABS.)
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

That happens quite a lot in my work. The pump can only hold two sales. We've not forgotten about you but they should have a tannoy system to tell you what's happening at the very least. It's just till technology unfortunately. :#

My pet hate is those who pull up at the pumps not to refuel but go inside to do some shopping. I guess it's too much of a task to expect them to walk an extra few yards!

Again, you wouldn't believe the amount of complaints we get about that at my work from customers. Some people park their for handiness and don't even get fuel while others eat their hot food dinner out there! Some people are just very selfish and lazy and never think of the needs of others. Just another symptom of the "me, me, me" society we live in nowadays, sadly. X-(

Some girl on Facebook has given birth. You wouldn't know it by the hourly updates she's given the world these last 9 months. Then she names the poor baby "Bella Reign Tracey Margaret Mckee." What in the blue hell is wrong with people? They don't think of the kids having to grow up with them.

My daughters, 18 and 16. Odd names I know but they were named after
    Their mother 32. ;)
It's OK for celebs to give funny names to their kids, as they don't live in
The real world, and they'll be going to school with other " Wacky" named
    kids.
Sadly for ordinary kids, they're going to get a lot of stick over it. :#

One Direction, cancel a performance just minutes before going on X-( Kids in tears
After queueing for hours ! I'm sure this could have been cancelled sooner, so these
poor kids would not have been so inconvenienced, with parents etc having to take
them to the venue, collect them again. :#

I wonder why it was cancelled?

I went to the Albert Hall earlier this year to see Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga. The concert was cancelled 15 minutes before the start, as the aforementioned legend was sadly too ill to perform. He hadn't been right all day apparently but wanted to leave it to the last minute to see if he could make it, in order not to let the fans down.

Unfortunately, many did end up feeling let down and disappointed, especially those that had travelled hundreds of miles. Perhaps he should have cancelled earlier and people should have been told earlier. It's difficult to gauge I guess, I can see it from both sides. Most people were just resigned and respectful upon hearing the news anyway, even the 'little monsters' ;)

P.S. I am not comparing Tony Bennett in any way to One Direction! :))

People who don't listen, and just keep going on and on about their situation.

Bloody irritating, and makes you wonder if they've ever learnt that they have two ears, and one mouth...
