I didn't think personal cheques were issued anymore (at least I haven't had a chequebook for a number of years) but your bank should not be honouring post-dated cheques anyway - complain to them!
Yep, cheques are still used. And you can post date them... that's the whole point of instalments (when paying by cheque) - the school should have cashed the cheques when they were issued for... ie Feb chq, should have been paid in by Feb.

It's not the bank... it's the school.
Ah ok I see now - I thought you meant that the cheques were dated June, July etc. in which case your bank should have refused payment.
Well, they still have 2 more... let's just say I've told them not to pay them in till June, and Aug.
idiots.

Bloody school trips! I've paid for 4 this last school year! I'm divorced from my eldest two daughters mother so it always falls to me to pay for these things.... Along the lines of please dad if you don't pay we can't go mum can't afford it.
On the plus side Lexi the baked bean diet is right on trend at the mo....not that at all or in any way suggesting you need to diet!!
On the other hand you could apply to Mods barbs and miley for an ajb payday loan....they're both multi millionaires don't you know, it's a prerequisite of being a mod
I imagine barbs castle looks similar to the one Sean connery has in entrapment, only with a large fully loaded recording studio in the cellar, just next door to his extensive wine cellar
And this might only be rumour.... But apparently sir miles is soo wealthy he actually owns the liver building!

My husband has a peanut allergy and exactly the same thing happened to him a few years ago in almost identical circumstances.
We ordered an Indian meal from a local restaurant. We asked specifically about nuts and if they used nut oil for cooking(because we know a lot of Indian food contains nuts). We said it because of a serious nut allergy. We were told no nuts. Take away arrived, hubby took a mouthful and then was violently sick. It contained something nutty. Since then he has stayed away from Indian food.
Fortunately, my hubby doesn't need an epi-pen and his reaction is to be physically sick if ingested but we know that could change. He can tell if there are peanuts in a room.
6 years may seem a bit excessive but someone lost their life. Restaurants need to be honest and not just think about losing a sale if someone then decides not to order.
If I showed that article to my wife, I guarantee she would never eat anything that she didn't make herself ever again. As for me, as long as I don't see a restaurant's kitchen or know what's going on in the kitchen, I'm good! 8-)

Haha - ive got the same attitude, what you dont know doesn't hurt you )
I was in a restaurant in Egypt once and the front of house was nice, clean, tidy and modern. Staff were friendly even though they barely spoke English. Had a nice lunch and then got up to go to the toilet before leaving. The toilet was down the back by the kitchen. Glanced in through the open door as I passed to see it in all its filthy glory and with two people curled up in the corner fast asleep on the floor. Good job I hadn't seen that before I ordered!
And it was, too! Spent the rest of the day keeping a constant eye on the availability and location of the nearest toilet, but it was all a false alarm! )
I think this is pretty normal, in most curry houses in the toilet you often see some form of jug or bottle near the toilet, which is used for washing after going to the toilet along with a hand. I've been told some cultures use one hand for washing and the other for eating.
Some of you may have read on the "What car do you drive "thread that I own a BMW X3 M sport , well I have had Beemers for years ,but this one seems to attract a bit of nasty attention ,ive only had it 6 weeks and ive noticed other drivers seem to be more shall we say unfriendly to me ,perhaps its just me being a bit more precious at the moment ,is it the personlised plates ?,I mean its not a ultra special car ,there are lots of Range rovers and Mercs around ,perhaps they get the same treatment I dunno .

Still on a motoring rant ,we drove back from Bluewater today up the A2 ,the traffic was bumper to bumper from the A2/M25 junction right back to Falconwood , apparently ,the Blackwall tunnel had gone t*ts up again and there was a crash on the Essex side of the Dartford bridge . Now if any terrorist had half a brain ,all they would need to do is steal a couple of trucks and dump one in both tunnels ,London would be screwed again .But the biggest annoying thing for me is the big over head signs above the motorway that says QUE SLOW TRAFFIC ,well if the signs wernt there I would never would have guessed Sherlock ,oh I did wonder why there was 10 miles of bumper to bumper traffic ??

Curry house chef prepared food after wiping his bottom with his bare hands because he doesn't use toilet paper for 'cultural reasons'

The length of the sentence surprised me to be honest. Pretty sure he didn't set out to kill anyone but he had near miss just shortly before.
Sentencing is all to **** anyway. He got 6 years while some sex offender got 5 today.

I often wondered about the whole one hand to wipe, the other to eat with. As surely
you need to use both hands to Prepare food ?
