Spoiled children and their ill-effects...the very real downside of fame. Sometimes being a nobody isn't so bad.

You're all wrong guys. The world needs these Multi Millionaires, to show us
The error of our ways. Only the super rich can save the world. :)) they all care
Deeply, so deeply about the world, they feel the pain more than us plebs because
They are all so incredibly in touch with the people of the world. You know the people
They pay big bouncers money to keep away from them. :))

I think that is very insesitive of you, AS. He has failed to save one of his adult child from herself, something many people know can be hard. He still has a social concience after that ordeal -is that a crime?

(While I'm being frank with you: Your posts would be easier to read if you used punctuation better.)

(I hope you forgive me this harsh post. I just felt it should be said.

I saw the X Factor tonight.

Not sure the opening few seconds of seeing a dead body being carried out was necessary.
There are a lot of young children watching that programme and I'm not sure they needed to be subjected to that. Saint Bob did give a warning but it was still unnecessary.

I know English is not your first language, Number 24, but you've made several mistakes yourself in that post in spelling and punctuation.

Yes, I'll be the first to admit I've made many mistakes in spelling and punctuation and spelling. I don't object if anyone points it out from time to time, because I assume it isn't written out of malice. I hope AS reads my post in the same way.
I did call my own post harsh and I was very uncertain if I should post it at all. IfI offended AS I beg forgiveness. But I still feel his origional post was was ill judged.

Whilst we're talking of Bob Geldof, what gives him the right to 'shame' Adele because she obviously did not want to be part of Band Aid 30 ??

For whatever reasons she did not want to contribute and surely that is her right. Just because she didn't jump when he clicked his fingers he thinks it appropriate to rant about her in the media. He probably has no idea what her reasons were or what she privately does for charities.

I get so sick of people trying to force 'charity' on us. It is a private thing and voluntary. When did it become law to sing on a charity single ??

    It's called choice.

God, I can't stand Bob Geldof.

+1, Lady Rose, I too thought he was being a bit of a Bully towards her. It's a form of
    charity Fascism :#
It also smacks to me of the old 50s attitude to Black people as in the Fleming novels.
that they're so innocent, child like and need to have a work ethic pushed on them, Hence
it's up to the old colonial powers to go back and help them out as they couldn't possibly
    help themselves. :s
I've taken an interest in the ebola outbreak and on a Newsnight special only a few days
ago, They showed African Doctors and Nurses, with African helpers, who have been there
on the front line fighting it for months, who far from being defeated or down hearted. Are
infact all fired up, because ( By themselves) they are winning the fight against it. They
gave examples of death rates falling from over 50% down to 20%. Yet from Bob all we
seem to get is this old Colonial idea that they can't help themselves and need the old
    Western Powers to help.
Britain has sent a fully equiped Hospital ship, with Doctors and nurses, If Band aid was to
fund another such Ship, Brilliant, but like many charities, this Money is going to ?
to be used for ? to fund ? to supply ?
There are so many charities out there helping why do they need another ? Next we'll have
the Band aid tv specials showing some "Celebs" wandering round a hospital Looking sad
Mabey Cheryl, holding a little baby ( Who's been checked to be clear) .
Maybe I'm an old grumpy Cynic, But if you want to help- donate some money, but don't
start bullying people who either couldn't or wouldn't help.
I too can't stand these self appointed guardians of peoples Morals. Although it must be fun
to feel so self righteous, can you imagine being stuck in a lift with Bob and Bono. :))

Saint Bob and Bono charging in on their trusty steeds to save the day X-(

Bob Geldof must the angriest man on the planet, ranting, pontificating and bullying his way onto out TV screens demanding we give him money.

It was similar with Poppies. I always wear a poppy but I would never berate someone who doesn't.
    This emotional blackmail is ridiculous.

We've just had Children In Need. The Band Aid single and soon it will be Text Santa.

    Please make it stop !!!

I have to admit people like Bona and Bob Geldof can seem more than a little stuck up at times. But I respect celebrities who spend so much time and effort on their causes. Angelina Jolie is an other example of a famous person who could have earned a lot more money if she had made movies instead of working for charities and the like. I have less time for celebs who spend one afternoon a year on charities and make damn sure as many members of the media as possible are present when they do it. I understand Bruce Springsteen who donates large sums to workers unions and other causes, but seldom sees any reason to tell the media. Respect.
  • ThunderpussyThunderpussy Behind you !Posts: 63,792MI6 Agent
The poppy is like the voting question, in that some will tell you
Millions died to give you the vote, partially true ! They died to
    Give you the right to "Choose" not to be TOLD what to do. -{
I haven't voted in years but will start again, as I intend to vote for
The silliest, most funny parties. In an attempt to show the powers
That be that I rather vote for a " stay up all night party" party, than
    Their usual rubbish.

Number24, I'm in total agreement many celebs work for charity, or
Donate huge sums of money, but many do it quietly, under the radar.
I remember having an argument with my older brother years ago about
Jimmy Saville ( he thought he was brilliant, doing all his charity work )
Where as, I thought he was milking the publicity for all it was worth.
I know that Bernard Manning gave loads of money to various charities, but
    Kept quiet about it.
There is an old expression that a good man's works should be like an
Underground stream. It goes unnoticed, but you can see the benefits of
    It all around you.

While I respect celebs who donate without wanting a lot of publicity. I also respect spend a lot of their time on good causes by using their fame to get a lot of attention and money for their causes. Angelina Jolie probably does more good for her causes by championing them than donating to them. The celebs I'm not impressed by are tho ones who barely do anything and only for a lot of press coverage.

On my own personal Rant :))
Had my first Bridezilla , last week after 13 years :# as she
Has done a night class in photography, she naturally knows
Everything. Saying my photos were out of focus, lacking detail
And vastly over exposed :# basically they're Crap !! :))
So I've offered her a full refund but of course she'll have to
    Delete all my images.
Now she has had the disc of Photos for over Six months before noticing
Any of these problems :)) ( which seems a little odd to me ) to prove to
Myself that I'm still bloody brilliant :)) ( my self confidence, did take a knock)
I've had one of the photos printed as a 16x12 and have it hung in my studio
So when she comes for her money she can see what a .........
Out of focus, lacking detail and over exposed image can look like ! :))

Well, I've seen many of your pics and they look just fine to me, TP. Though I haven't taken a course in photography, naturally! :))
  • ThunderpussyThunderpussy Behind you !Posts: 63,792MI6 Agent
:)) One of the Video guys told me , the six moth gap before complaining
Is unbelievable, and I should use his tip. On his booking form he states that
After receiving disc etc. You have one week to make any complaint's etc.
So I'll have to add this to mine. :))
I should have known something was up, as it turns out two other photographers
Passed on their wedding ! In fact the first one cancelled on them. :))
As always I'll have to put it down as a learning experience. :D
