Skyfall music by Thomas Newman

I know we haven't heard it yet, but I think the final ingredient that could enhance or detract from the new Skyfall
film will be the Thomas Newman soundtrack music.
If it's quite different I hope it's as good as Casino Royale with it's orignal themes.
What we don't want is another Goldeneye (not very good-banging dustbins music!)
I would also like to have the soft and loud variation that John Barry used to do,
rather than bland so-so tunes.
Loud bombastic action music that eventually slows down-matching the pace of the film.

Do we have a date for when the soundtrack CD will be out? Probably a week or so before the film.
if they're late deciding on a theme singer they may be sold separately and not on the soundtrack CD.
(Like Chris Cornell (You know my Name) and Casino Royale by David Arnold.

Unfortunately, it is not from Thomas Newman's Skyfall soundtrack. KLM has tweeted that the iFly music was developed by themselves. I said unfortunately because I really like it, a very worthy piece of music for a Bond soundtrack/film.

Thanks for that spoiler tag, I'm trying to stay clear of anything that wil give story lines away...(although that's getting harder) but can't stay away from AJB altogether, caus that would be boring )
Roll on Skyfall week!
The one thing about the soundtrack listing that concerns me is how brief the tracks are. I'm not sure that's a bad thing by itself, but many Bond sequences of the past have been met by longer and lush musical cues . . . if I'm reading the description correctly, the longest cuts on the soundtrack are just a little more than five minutes or so.

Sounding good....although it is hard to not to have any reference, I enjoy the QOS soundtrack, as I can listen through the film (if that makes sense)
What's your take on it Moore Than?
Obvious thing to mention first. My opinion is liable to change drastically in the coming weeks. My opinion now is based on samples which I have listened to only a couple of times each.
There was nothing there that jumped out at me and said WOW! Equally, there was nothing that jumped out at me and said RUBBISH! About half a dozen of the tracks sound promising, the rest sound bland/generic. Having said that, I often felt the same way at this stage regarding David Arnold's Bond scores. Much of his music grew on me over time, though he could never do action very well.
Thomas Newman certainly deserves the benefit of the doubt for now.
Generic. Although My view might change on hearing the full score.
SKYFALL AND 50 YEARS OF JAMES BOND

Obviously haven't heard it yet, but 007 magazine in it's film review says the music is a bit all over the place.
but then David Arnold's music for TNDies was a bit muddled also. (first Bond soundtrack.)
Arnold got better later and Casino Royale has some nice piano and brass music.
Michael Kamen's LTKill action music was also a bit frantic, instead of, with John Barry you would've got a tune and
not jumping about music.
Bleuville. "Tiffany Case! Definitely distinctive."
This score proves that David Arnold is far better than his detractors like to claim.
Bond theme cues from skyfall
Do you mean "Breadcrumbs?" That is an original Newman piece, though heavily influenced by Arnold's sound.
Whilst I'm logged in I may as well give my thoughts on the score. They mirror what a lot of people say. The score is so so. It's kind of just there. No memorable themes or moments, and I would have liked a little more use of the James Bond theme in certain moments. It wasn't a bad score, just forgettable.
I agree. It's not a bad score but there's nothing great about it either.
In the OST I have, there is also an additional track: 31. Old Dog New Tricks.
Also on youtube there was another track titled: MI6 Aftermath: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHkhwja1VXo&feature=related
Are there any other versions of the soundtrack with additional tracks???
Have seen the film, and the music is not up to much. No good themes.
Bring back David Arnold for future Bond films.
I've collected every soundtrack CD but I'm not sure whether to bother with this one.
Bleuville.
utterly forgettable and Don't expect to Buy it, until it
turns up in a Bargin Bin somewhere.
Why are the tracks not in order?
Why doesn't the title artist feature on the soundtrack these days? If I remember rightly, no DC era soundtrack has had the title song included. Why?

I'll answer the second one.
Unfortunately it is down to the simple business of making money. 1 Artist = 1 CD. Otherwise you have to deal with splitting the money earned. Much more simple to have 2 CDs those who want to listen to Adele buy 1 CD, those who want to listen to Thomas Newman buy 1 CD. Those who want to listen to both (Like me) Download them both for free from Piratebay (other Torrent sites are available :-)
Damn coin gets in the way again.
Cheers for pointing out my blooper -{
