What would the FINAL 007 mission be like?

Although it would most likely never happen anytime soon, but how do you think the last Bond mission/movie would play out?

Ive always wondered how fans would react if Bond were to die in a future film.

If they knew it would be his last day, they probably wouldn't make it too dangerous for him, so M might send him out to get some grub from the local chippie.

I think that the end of the novel 'You Only Live Twice' would have been the perfect send-off for the character. I feel that Fleming shouldn't have written 'The Man With The Golden Gun'... or at least he should have placed it, chronologically, before the 'Blofeld Trilogy'.

Yeah, but that means he's walking into the clutches of the KGB. A bit ominous.

You could probably end the novel in where Bond just lives as a Japanese citizen and doesn't see the KGB word.

That's kinda what I like about it, I guess. Open-ended and hints that there are adventures ahead.

I reckon Bond will probably die off (i hope not tho) accidently as in they will make a bad film and then the producer's will die

him finding out his mi5 working parents were actually killed by the orders of a previous m, but mi5 asked bond to work for them in an attempted cover up.
Ever noticed how m seems to dislike q? this cud be used in a story that m doesnt want bond to succed in his missions, and to hope he is killed on a mission so that he never finds out about his parents.

I think if Bond ever ended (on purpose), that it would need to be part of a two or three movie story arc. It would need to have more emotional implications that are built up over the course of the "mini-series". I think it would actually be really cool to explore an old Bond at the end of his career/life, something like that would have been an awesome direction to take with Moore, though I obviously understand why they didn't do that. Something like an adaptation/re-imagining of the Blofeld Trilogy would be pretty good. Basically Bond is old and decides to retire, get married, she dies, he gets revenge and then dies in the end (at least in my version).

Ive been thinking that Bond could suffer what they call a "career ending" injury on one of his missions. Yeah it sounds kinda lame but it would fit perfectly when it comes to Bond's profession, somewhere along line he could suffer a really bad injury and be forced to leave MI6 if it didnt kill him.

I don't think it'll ever happen, or if it does, it won't be intentional.

What I mean is that the 007 franchise is just too well-known and iconic for any producer to have the right to finish it. And when I say it wouldn't be intentional, I mean that someone might take over the franchise, have their run with it, leave it, and then nobody else would pick it back up (although the chances of this happening are overwhelmingly low - anyone in Britain would leap at the opportunity to help produce a Bond film).

I agree, I don't think it would happen but if it did I would like a two story psrt one like the last Harry Potter film one coming out in Jan the next in Nov or something like that. What if Bond married at the end! At the start of the 2 part film he meets a girl, like in OHMSS, and at the end he decides to marry her, ending the story with him now not a ladies man and he quits the service becasue he doesnt want her to die like b4
