The Living Daylights - tonight

I *just* finished watching a clean Lowry DVD of it minutes ago.
First viewing of it in years.
Wow, it was great. Dalton was SO much better in the role than I remembered.
The movie combined some of the more fantastic elements from the film series with the REAL character from the novels IMO. Nice blend.
Cinematography & music were top notch. Story was well written, if a little too easily wrapped up.
It wasn't in my top 5 Bond movies before tonight- now it is. Solidly.
Excuse me while I go shed some tears that Timothy didn't do more Bond flicks....

Well, he definitely did - onscreen
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
In fact, back in 1987 I found his Bond too emotional, being used to the cool surface of Connery & even Moore.
I have since reconsidered. -{

about a certain boy. He's secretly a Big Fan. )
I always liked Dalton as Bond thought he got closer to the Bond of the novels than any
other actor, Although many will disagree with me.
His only fault IMHO was he moved stiffly in the fights, didn't have the ease of movement
that Connery had.
I am a big fan of yours, TP but I'll always complain about you.
Things with Dalton are different. I did not like him much in the 80s, I always thought, that he looks like a bookkeeper and not like an agent, but over the years, I have gotten more and more embarrassed about his winey performance.
It affects me physically to see him acting like a shy schoolboy pretending to be cool
