Actresses who'd make great Bond-girls.

Following BIG-TAM's example of the 'Actors who'd make great villians" thread, this serves the same purpose.

So share some actresses you would like to see as a Bond girl!

I would say Eva Mendes, always thought she was pretty hot :D - though, she might be slightly to old now...

I can't believe that they haven't even thought about trying to bring Catherine Bell in as a Bond girl, maybe not one of the disposable from one movie to another, but maybe as Money-Penny or something. I think she would make an amazing Bond girl. The memory of JAG is just about gone, what better way to cement an actress into the memory than having them become a Bond girl? So that is my choice: Catherine Bell.

I mean whether they were good or bad, they still have the notch in their cap of being a Bond girl.

Piper Perabo or Anne Hathaway would be good candidates for Miss Moneypenny

Lois Maxwell was Canadian, though she lived in England. She seemed to speak with an accent that was kind of somewhere between American/Canadian and English (although more of the former in my opinion), so even though unlikely to be an American, I wouldn't say it's impossible for Moneypenny, especially since she's a smaller character.

Autralian Natalia Imbtuglia vould do a fine job, as well as Keisha castle-hughes, Emily Deshanel (tho she would be very painful) and if they made a Bond film with quantum in it, Stana Katic could do a good job back in there. People would recgonise her from Castle, and someone last year said he would have 'loved' to have her back. How about Emily Blunt as well?

Wasn't Natalie Imbuglia in fact the main Bond girl in Goldeneye? Or am I getting mixed up because the character's name sounds something similar?

As for the topic of this thread I think Madonna could work well as a major Bond girl. I was disappointed more wasn't done with her character in Die Another Day than just a brief cameo.

In Goldeneye you had a Bond girl called Natalya Simonova played by Izabella Scorupco. Thats what you have mixed up proberbly :) ..

And your Madonna idea, with all due respect, I think it would have been a terrible idea. I think the cameo was bad enough!

I think they should go for an actress who is very different from Eva Green, Olga Kurilenko and Berenice Marlohe. The public image of a Bond girl is a blonde, but the last time we had a blonde one was in 1986! Here is my suggestion: Kelli Garner

She is 28 and American. She has done small parts in big movies (The Aviator, Taking Woddstock) and bigger parts in small movies (Lars and the real girl, Thumbsucker) and she acts well. After the gloomy brunettes we have seen lately, it would be fun to see a blonde with a big smile next to Craig.

She was in a spy spoof. I think Bean or Johnny English. I only caught part of it. I want to see it because there was a funny scene with a building raid.

We do need some blonde Bond girls. I'll give it some thought. But for now. She's not an actress but perfect.

Since when is Bond Girl synonymous with "blonde"? You said yourself that the Bond Girl hasn't been a blonde in quite a while. Maybe it's just me, but I never equated Bond Girl with blonde.

People believe most Bond girls are blonde, but they aren't. Perhaps it is because blondes are seen as dumb sex symbols and for a while that was what Bond girls were. This perception of blonds is actually racist. You probably think I'm taking things too serious now, but imagine how people would react if you started telling jokes were the joke is that black or latina women are dumb and easy? If that is wrong and racist, so are blonde jokes.

"People believe most Bond girls are blonde"

What is your evidence of this statement? Have you seen or conducted a poll that backs up your assertion? I have been a fan of Bond films for five decades and I have never had the perception that Bond Girl = Blonde. As for your comment about racism, I didn't realize "blonde" was a race. But I agree with your premise that it is offensive to assume that Blonde = Dumb.

Blonde is not a race, but fair hair and blue eyes are particular to my ethnic group. Just like slit eyes and flat noses are not a race.
No, I have no polls or other proof that the public image of a Bond girls is a blonde.it's just my impression.

Kelly Macdonald (HBO's 'Boardwalk Empire') is an attractive, highly talented actress who'd be ideal casting as a Miss Moneypenny for the modern age.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

She is gorgeous, and would be a real breath of fresh air, from the gloomy trio so far in the DC era (based solely on looks of course as I have not yet had the opportunity of seeing Bernice in the role, who knows maybe she's lots of laughs...)

Only problem is that she is hardly age appropriate for DC so would have to be for a different Bond.

Gemma Arterton was just 22 when she did QoS, so I don't see how Kelli Garner would be a problem at 28.

Big assumption there as I thought that she was indeed a problem in QOS as it looked slightly creepy to me. Besides even DC's mother would not say that he is ageing well so the concern for me at least persists as I never want to see another creaky Bond with a female that looks like his daughter.

This is very much about perceptions and feelings, so it's wrong to say anyone is wrong. But I don't recall any reviews or internet chat where the age difference was brought up as a negative after QoS. In my opinion Craig isn't young-looking, but he has the fitness and vitality of a fairly young man. The there are also many who think Craig unconventional looks better with age If he starts looking and seeming old, like RM did in AVTAK, he would look horrible (especially) next to a woman in her twenties.

I was only ever talking about my perceptions, and don't recall claiming any more than it jarring with me.

I'd say he is looking older these days, but my perception hasn't reached the point of me considering him part of the older actors in my head. He still seems as hip and Daniel Craig-y as always, even if his face is more craggy.
