The "other" Moonraker Laser

Mr WebberMr Webber AustraliaPosts: 114MI6 Agent
Have been putting together morganthirteens version of the Moonraker laser and during the research, realised i knew what the "other" Drax laser was in real life and went off to find one, and did. Its a US made Dixon automotive timing light and was lucky enough to find one locally. Jumping ahead of myself a little as this is probably common knowledge among Bond weapon fans but i cant find it stated anywhere on the net so i guess this is the best place to clear that up. Still, its a big find for me and hope that it helps someone else on their prop journey.

    :)) my experience of the RPF was its a nanny-state that doesn't allow new members to defend themselves, and daft kids with false misleading claims, copying months of hard graft.

    course, they're not all like that, but IMO ajb is a far better resource for all things bond.

    Ive turned a lot of soil at therpf and have only come up with a few nuggets, four or so people who have really been a tremendous help and made the whole thing worthwhile and are pretty much the only reason i keep going back but apart from that its a lot of hard work with little result. Wouldnt get any Martini glass emoticons there. :)) -{

    Really texas007? I tracked it down using the only technique i have, pick a feature and hit the worlds ebays and came up dry
    until i found one in my area of all places, cost me $50, Doh, still at the time i thought i was the only knucklehead with one and thought that was cheap!! :))

    Maybe I can paint it, add the greeblies etc and still be able to service the car once a year to get my monies worth. ;)

    Yes - you can ask Ed. He bought a bunch, when he was doing the Drax gun. It had been a few years though, but back then they were pretty commonly sold on Ebay - brand new too.

    i've just had a look over there at the skyfall ppk/s thread. they're currently debating whether it really is a ppk/s or not, and predicting FE will be making it :)) :))

    oh dear.... 8-)

    Not anymore, it's clearly a PPK/S :) Check out the links below.

    Look at the hammer area, there is a big difference between the two. The gun might even be the S&W version.

    If FE is gonna make it, then we can expect it to be released sometime around year 2020. :))
