I went from being a bit underwhelmed by the jacket, to liking the look when I saw SF, to really wanting one when they became all but unavailable! Also received confirmation from Cultism. They seem to be able to get more stock than other dealers. Hope this is the case. My local supplier ran out of the original batch, quickly sold the pre-order, managed to get some extra sizes and sold these as pre-order in about 20 minutes on-line. The amount of time the Cultism pre-order ( second, I think) ran, made me think they cannot possibly supply demand and I will receive a message saying 'sorry we cannot fulfill your order'. Confirmation is a good start, but not 100% certain I will actually get one.

Goodstead are very reliable. FYI I saw a ladies cotton scarf in M&S that was a dead ringer for the Lodge outfit's scarf in texture and colour. Come on, no one would know!

I have just received a confirmation for my pre-order with Cultizm, order from them with the new customer 10% discount!

I also received my Cultizm confirmation overnight. Nice to wake up to, but February seems rather far away now! Oh well, provided it makes it all the way out here to Tokyo, it'll be a nice belated Christmas present to see out the end of winter and early spring. From May onwards, it'll be too hot here to use it.

Hi all, quick request, I have a large "lodge" turning up in the coming days from Goodstead, still slightly worried as to whether I should have ordered a medium, I am 6ft, 175lbs and 39 chest.

Once it has arrived and if it is too big I will list on here and hope to exchange or buy a medium in return. According to Goodstead they arrive around 24th in store, should I should have it late next week or early the following.

So if anyone finds themselves needing to swap a medium for a large in the coming weeks, can they let me know.

    cheers

    Hi Nick

You should be okay. I have ordered a large also and I have a 40" chest. Normally this would be a medium. I tried on a similar style Barbour in a large and it was fine. It is a tailored jacket so the fit is designed to be close.

    Regards

Did you order through Goodstead ?

I'm about the same size as you guys, 6ft2 with 40-42" chest and went with a large from Cultizm. Will take a long time to make it here to Japan, but I missed the Goodstead re-release :(

Think you would need the large otherwise the jacket would be skin tight

I'm a 40 and have a large so I could wear a jumper etc under it. The M was too tight for that, but it did mean I needed the sleeves reduced. If I'd have been brave I'd have used the 'shower' method ! Looks like that has worked really well. I'm hoping to get mine back at the weekend

Martini, I am 6ft 2 also with a 42 chest but have re-ordered an XXL as the XL was too tight. Depends what build you are. If you are lean/slim then you may get away with it. I am broad shouldered with quite large arms so everything was a bit of a squeeze.

Covert Monkey - you sound same build as me. Im also XXL due to arms and shoulders 43 chest. Have you got the Billy Reid or Levis jackets also??? If so interested to hear your sizes

Yes mate, we sound very similar.

I have ordered an XL in the BR. So will wait to see what the outcome of that one is!

I have a XXL Billy Reid however mine is from original season so sizing maybe diff from reissue. My XXL is tight around shoulders and arms. Wouldnt mind trying a reissue to see if any diff!

Thanks for the tip... I'll see how the large goes and take it from there. If I cancel now, I won't be able to get an XL at any rate!

I plan on wearing this with a thin jumper underneath. I've got pretty low body fat these days and haven't been to a gym in about two years, so I'm on the lean side of things these days. I've got quite broad shoulders, and used to be pretty muscley... will just have to try it on when it gets here in Feb 2013!

For comparison, due to my 33" waist, I usually try to fit into coats/suit jackets which are fitted and come in more at the waist. If I have something with lots of room in my shoulders, I would need it taken in far too much. I bought the H&M peacoat last night here in Tokyo, and that is a 40R as the 42R left just that bit too much in the midriff.

I've lived in Japan for almost two years now, so I am used to being a Large here, tokito should fit me..., whereas in the UK I try to get into mediums otherwise I look drowned.

Having said that, my Dad always used to buy me either XL or XXL when i was younger, and recommended the same to me just last week, but he goes hunting and wears absolutely massive jumpers. I'm more of a dandy :p

Managed to find this year's Tokito today in Edifice, Shinjuku (Tokyo). They only had a medium, for ¥110,000 JPY, and it was too tight across the shoulders and maybe a little short in the arms.

I'm happy I ordered the Large in the old model.

    Bring on Feb.

Has anyone taken up this suggestion for a budget version? Seems like a good alternative, but I would love to see pictures of this jacket actually being worn. Or even hear your opinion on it as to whether it's similar-looking to the real thing.
