I have an XXL preordered with Kafka. I'm wondering if anyone can give me an opinion on how they think it might fit. I am 6'6", 205 lbs, with a 42" chest. Because I am so tall, I have very long arms. I did my research and read that you should order a size up in this jacket, but then again XXL seems like it will be huge. Any thoughts?

maybe to big in the chest,, im a 42 and ordered a large, flat measurements are 22

I have a preorder with Aspecto, does anyone recall what exact date they said they'd be getting the jackets in on? I forgot to write it down.

I'm 6ft. 43/44" chest (broad shoulders), 36" waist - I have and XL which fits great. I tried a Large and struggled to get it on. VERY tight on the shoulders!

In that case, I'd be willing to trade my XXL for an XL if anyone is interested.

I emailed them and they should be delivered to customers on the 22nd Jan.

Can someone who has a size small in this jacket post their measurements?

I have the Small and it fits me very well. Was struggling between the Small and the Medium at first, but the Medium was far too large in too many places. The arm holes are very tight on the Small but I can still wear a dress shirt and medium weight wool sweater under it. Arm holes were still tight on the Medium but not as much. I had thought that I'd have the Small let out an inch in the upper back but it seems to have stretched out after wearing for a while.

I'm 5-8-3/4" tall and 163 pounds. 42" chest, 46-1/2" shoulders (measuring around the largest part), and 32" waist. I do find that many men in North America wear their clothes in far too large a size so I'm used to wearing clothes with more of a "European" fit. Two things that I look for in jackets are if the shoulder seam matches up with the edge of my shoulder (Small did, Medium went past them) and the sleeves the correct length i.e. at the base of the thumb or an inch past (Small is around there, Medium was far too long).

If someone wears their jackets much larger regularly then they'll likely feel uncomfortable with a SA look. Also, it buttons fairly snug in my body so if someone is a bit bigger around the middle they'll really feel it with this jacket.

So, I'm watching an Academy screener of Skyfall last night, and his jacket never looks that fitted on him. Shoulders start just past his and in the bar scene it looks rather baggy

Is this jacket from the new edition?
Anyway, it is the second jacket I see, with a wrong distance between the bottom front buttons.
At the SA original edition the distance of the last two buttons are less than the distance between the other buttons.

It looks to me, if Barbour takes liberties with the quality like Levis at the second edition.

Chest size is 42" actual measurement. But don't forget, jacket fits are not solely down to chest size, the shoulders play an important part. Then there's sleeve length etc etc.

thats weird, i never actually noticed the button spacing before (I kinda prefer the generic eqadistant button spacing as opposed to the SA) but thats just weird that barbour would mess with that at this stage in the game. Maybe its just the way CRB is wearing it?

Is it a different color? The original looks lot more brown? Or do I need my eyes checked again?

a quick check on this thread, lots of members showed wearing jacket proudly, shows last button placement parallel to pocket button. very strange....

Yeah... just checked mine and button is lower down.

Looks like Barbour have messed up. Least we can tell what is an original jacket over a reissued one, though it doesn't really matter.

Ha ha... Me too... I got mine in early December but the retailer informed me it was from the original batch where someone ordered two sizes and this one was not reqd.

That said I'm yet to see someone with an original 2011 jacket? As the stock photos of garments are quite often different from the actual release version. Was the barbour competition for the skyfall jacket not promoted as a sample jacket?!

I have an original from October. Bottom button of the closure lines up with button of bellowed pocket closure.

Does the fact that the button is in a different position stop you from buttoning up the jacket?
